Default Barry Sanders or Emmitt Smith?

Who is the best overall running back? Who would you rather have on your team?

If you want to look at some stats, look in this thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/sports/143...ml#post3337948

I voted for Barry!

Barry in a second, he didn't have anything NEAR the teams Smith did, and was still putting up crazy numbers.

As a kid growing up in the 1990s, you didn't idolize Emmitt Smith... you idollized Barry Sanders.

I hear ya, but this isn't a best of all time. It's simply which one is better.

Barry! No offensive line, and he still made LB's and safeties look like fools.

Had it been all time I'd argue he still didn't have the talent Payton or Brown had around him, he had some but nothing compared to most of the greats.

To be fair, he had T Lomas Brown (7 Pro Bowls) and C Kevin Glover (3 Pro Bowls).

But yeah, Barry wins this poll.

Looking at Locations. Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Arizona. All teams Emmitt ran over on his way to being the top rusher of all time. No wonder there's no love for him in this thread.duck.gif

MMmmm kinda helps with the HOF caliber lineman, QB, tight ends, WR's.

Pretty sure it took him longer then everyone to get up to #1 too... its like saying Bruce Smith is the true all time sack leader , he had to play forever and still only has it by a couple.

If there is somehow an inability to see the DRASTIC difference in talent around the player then really lol its not even worth talking about because it would just be a waste of time

Weren't all those team pretty terrible during Emmitt's run, too? Just food for thought.

Yes everybody looked bad playing against the Cowboys during that era.

Except the 49ers.hissyfit.gif
