That wasn't what your original post said.

Taking a long time to deliver (sounds like in your case it was a cluster) isn't pulling something, it's just being incompetent.
'
Which I believe most of us have come to expect from FUNi I guess. Which is sad.

I guess I didn't articulate what I meant by "pulling something." I meant they were dishonest from the start about what they were offering. Here is a post that goes into detail what I'm talking about:

https://www.theoasg.com/articles/ple...ckstarter/3138

Mainly, the exclusivity of the OG dub to higher tiers, and the very disappointing "KS EXCLUSIVE FINISH" on the artbox which was literally just the word "Escaflowne" done in silver instead of gray.

Again, sorry for my syntax--I wasn't trying to be hostile toward you.

Plus, consider the possibility that Toei won't let them use their (Toei's own) remaster, so FUNi did their own thing to:
1. Combat that, and;
2. Make more money with a botched release

Really, it's just an evil scheme they've been pulling to milk their most successful anime (which also happens to be the most successful anime outside Japan).
That would actually be pretty stupid on funimations part from a business point of view. Physical media sales are in general shrinking these days. They could also simply do a decent remaster if they were capable and repackage the thing to milk collectors like almost every other studio does and not have to waste money doing a new remastering over and over.

They could also include a digital copy with the set. They have tons of ways to do this set without purposfully making an inferior product that would make them more money and cost them less capitol then doing a shitty remaster every other year.

But this is FAILimation weíre talking about. Nothing they do is logical. If their past decisions regarding DBZ are an indicator, then Iím right on the money.

Toei doesn't seem to be interested in doing another home video release of Dragon Ball Z, they last thing they did was finish the singles for the Dragon Boxes in early 2007. Reminder: The Dragon Boxes in 2003 were the first time the series hit home video in Japan, there were no laserdisc or VHS releases.

Also they'd likely just do a smeary upscale that could be even worse than FUNi's garbage "remaster".

They exceeded the 3000 they needed to move to start production on the set. They didnít sell the full 6000 but they can still count this as a victory. Preorders are closed now and have been for several days.

Yeah, i understand all of that, I just didn't know if they reached the 6000 sell limit before the date closed.

They were somewhere around 1,300 sets remaining before they closed preorders.

Had the transfer been done competently, they probably would've sold the whole 6,000 within a week.

First part of a multi-part video series of DBZ's North American history. Includes footage from the "remaster"

But real fans like crop and color saturation, the sale numbers prove it!

In the end, I wonder how many people here complained openly then secretly ordered the set.

My copies of the level sets appear to be bronzing; I started re-watching it, and my first disc of level 1.1 is no longer playing certain sections.

Anyone else experience this?
