Neo: X became X.

They didn't want...confusion...

Because the prior Neo: X...which they forgot they had, still exists.

And Neo: New X would have led to people thinking "not new" X was inferior.

verification please? I'm just curious - the only verification of anything denoting DTS or X is:

Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Headphone:X Audio Track

That's incorrect

DTS:X should not be confused with DTS Neo:X, which simulates height sounds without actual encoding or DTS Headphone:X which simulates a multi-channel surround experience on regular two-channel headphones. DTS:X is a discrete encoding and decoding format that should provide a more immersive surround sound experience when used with compatible content.

I am looking at it again and it looks like Spanish to me too. Can anyone confirm?

I don't get this 'X' thing with DTS they have had:

DTS Neo X
DTS Headphone:X.
DTS X

it's becoming a bit redundant if you ask me.

A comma is missing. That's Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1. Dolby and DTS in one sentence is impossible.

DTS:X Demo disc from CES2015 has the following movies, with DTS:X. Could be a glimpse for the next re-release with DTS:X?

That list doesn't seem right. Rise Of An Empire has 7.1 sound.

Okay, this makes sense now. I use DTS Neo:X processing on my Denon receiver for movies. Initially I was thinking, how in the world are they putting this on discs? lol

Headphone X is not the same thing as DTS:X. Therefore, Mockingjay Part 1 should be removed from the list. We don't know which BDs will actually have DTS:X right now.

Instead of coming up with a new name(like Dolby did: IIx to IIz, then Atmos)...they choose the stupid route.

Neo X is speaker-based.

X is object-based.

what's interesting about Neo:X is that it uses the side speakers just to the left and right of the front left right speakers that Dolby Atmos uses in it's commercial theatrical applications but NOT in it's home version. This was used to excellent effect in 'Gravity' as the voices seemed to drift off the center of the screen and extend just outside of the image.

I also don't understand why Atmos in the home theater application doesn't use height channels either - a great example of object based imagery of suggesting height was used in the first Hobbit movie where the voices of the Trolls were above the voices of the Dwarves.
