I did the same thing lol , but was looking for the new Code in the search bar. I guess the saw that glitch lol. well at least I wont have to over pay for Sony Reward codes anymore. still wouldnt mind picking up 2 more to finish my wifes first movie buff pass lol.

I still have couple codes back from early May and they still work just fine despite the 90 day expiration that they mention. So it seems like they work indefinitely for now, unless Sony goes back and makes changes to strictly limit the 90 day expiration.

I see that Sony redeem site is automatically redirecting you to MA when you enter a Movie Buff pass on their site. Anyone know if you can still select a title on MA site and still be able to redeem it on Vudu (assuming Vudu has redeem link for title selected)?

no , it redeems MA automatically. read a few posts down , I and a couple of others have already tested / redeemed.

Thanks for the heads up on the new movies. The OP reflects the current movies that are available.

Went ahead myself and redeemed for The Equalizer 2. Not as good as the first one, but still enjoyed it when I saw it at the cinema.

"Hello,
We are writing to notify you of a recent point balance change that was erroneously made to your Sony Rewards account. We mistakenly added 500 Sony Rewards points to your account.

Unfortunately, our system wrongly indicated that you were eligible for and had completed the necessary steps associated with the Newbie Movie Buff Pass, and as a result, the system mistakenly added the 500 Sony Rewards points to your balance. We discovered the issue on October 2, 2019, and in order to correct this error, we have now removed the 500 points that were erroneously added to your Points Balance. The removal will be listed in your Points Activity as "Correction - Newbie Movie Buff Pass."

We deeply regret that your account was impacted by this error. We take your enjoyment of the Sony Rewards program very seriously, and this is not the kind of experience we want for our members."

Didn't notice the original 500 added so whatever, but wonder if they put people in the negative.

Movie buff doesn't work for me anymore. It has not not retained the last 5 codes I submitted for #11 and #9 is showing blank for one code and #10 blank for all codes but I already received #9 & #10 over a year ago. ???

I know that, at least in the past, once you started a Movie Buff Pass, you had to complete it within a certain amount of time or the Pass would be closed and they'd make you start over again. I forget the time period, something like 30, 60, or 90 days...

I finally got around to trying this and have managed to get two free movies from it which is awesome.

One question -- a couple of the titles that show up as eligible aren't working for me. Specifically, Berry Gordy's Last Dragon and Aloha. Anyone else have problems with those (or other titles)? Interestingly, for Aloha, the actual cover picture is American Hustle and I registered that disc just fine (even though it wasn't listed as eligible).

I was looking for the terms and conditions on the newbie movie buff, but found it for the regular movie buff. It is 90 days for the regular movie buff. Scroll all the way to the bottom then scroll up a little bit to see the passes and whatnot.

edit: wait a minute... it says you can complete the movie buff pass within 1 year of the first code registration/entry, but then have to redeem the movie buff pass within 90 days of completion.

1. Are all the free movies only HDX (not 4K)?

2. Codes still work pass even way pass the 90-day supposed expiration?

1) As far as I'm aware

2) Probably. I haven't let one go too much later, but I've never had one expire. Sony may even replace an expired code even if it happens, but I'm not going to tempt fate.


Unfortunately after Oct and Nov, I think I'm back down to 1 eligible title and I really really don't want to have to use a free pass for Holmes and Watson. I felt dirty enough for being forced to get Emoji Movie and H/W is an order of magnitude worse.

Just got Hook on 4K and even though it says on the app you can register the disc, it says this disc is not available for registration when I do it. Any ideas on what to do? E-mail them my code?
