Could anyone tell me if the included 2d blu-ray in the UK set really does not have any Dutch subtitles, like the backcover suggests? Thanks!

Firstly the AR of 1.78:1 really opens out the image on a 106” screen from a projection point of view.
CGI Image quality was excellent and packed with details, one minute it’s like watching a David Attenborough documentary the next your singing along, comedy and sadness all packed within a nearly 2hr film. We enjoyed this more than the original !.
Audio was typical Disney of late with having to crank the volume but it was quite impressive especially dialogue which was crystal clear.

The 3D was a mixed bag, no pop outs per se’ just like looking through a window, I would say from very mild to ‘medium on a few occasions’. Some of the rocky scenes where the characters were looking out over had a good sense of dimension and bright scenes really popped. Dark scenes had great black levels and an eeriness to them.
On occasion some characters in the foreground had a slight cardboard cutout appearance which was a shame, if only those shots had separation for some pop out it would of been fantastic.
We will be watching the 2D Blu ray included at some point just to compare notes but I doubt I will buy the 4K uhd.

Not perfect but a recommended from me.
Glad to hear the 3D quality is not quite as dire as some have been suggesting. Also, nice to know the movie was so enjoyable. Mild 3D & poor story make Jack a dull boy.

Just finished watching the 3D disc. Incredibly disappointed, as other have said, weak depth most of the time, flat layers, no volume at all when you watch the characters, even in close ups they look flat. No pop ups as expected. Miles away from Dumbo, Aladdin and most recent 3D titles. The 3D version of the original animated movie was also much more impressive.

What equipment are you utilizing for 3D?

Optima GT1080 DLP 3D projector. I watch 3D all the time on it, and believe me this was underwhelming.

After reading these reviews I think I may end up passing on the 3D version.

Always best to view it and make up your own mind, as I said before not the best 3D by a long shot and scenes varied from flat 2D to medium depth at best through out the entire film. For me on occasion there were some very nice 3D shots but if this had stronger depth and pop outs it would of been fantastic. A shame but still glad I watched it.

I watched this last night and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was much better than the 1994 movie, absolutely stunning to look at and quite captivating. I thought the 3D was really nice too and i was certainly pleased with the 3D presentation. IMO it is firmly in the medium category, not the strongest, not the weakest. The whole thing being CG probably helped but i thought there was always a nice and effective sense of depth and layers. Some stunning deep backgrounds at times too on occasion. The 3D won't be for everyone's tastes and i can totally understand some not being impressed but i thought it was really natural looking and of course being full screen is a big plus.

PQ was absolutely stunning but i think down the line i'll be looking to pick up the 4K version just to see how great that looks as apparently it's a reference disc.

Yeah I'm surprised at how many people are saying the 3D is weak. I haven't watched the disc yet (I'll get it on sale) but it looked very good theatrically.

3D reviews are pointless. Someone likes it, someone else doesn’t. Website or YouTube review doesn’t like it, everyone questions their setup. lol. What a waste of time. Up there with shipping notices. Look at the Godzilla thread. The reviews are so night and day per setup or person I’m not sure anyone looking to buy that movie could read that thread and make a decision. Solo, Blade Runner etc. All the same

I also got the same price. Mine shipped this past Saturday, says it should arrive by 12/4 (standard shipping speed).

Why do things ship later from Amazon than some other outlets???

If you do pick up the 4K at some point let me know what you think. Don’t know if you read my impressions on the 3D bd but I agree with yours.

Mine suddenly dropped to 11.99 pounds - a 6.01 reduction from 18 pounds.

Cannot imagine a new 3D release going for $15.50. Another Amazon error?

Just checked my Amazon UK order...shipped at 10 plus 3 euros. Supply/ demand/price? If demand has dropped off that much...or maybe they made to many copies...hmm...

It was an accidental entry into a Disney sale. This item was not supposed to be included. They let the price stick.

Joe I thought you got this for 9.99 like many of us? Are you referring to a different movie?
