Finished the 5th gym, going faster now that I’m not spending so much time Dex building, up to 140 Pokemon.
Team is now Inteleon, Toxtricity, Flapple & Centiskorch. I really like the majority of the new designs for this Generation. |

Pikachu have had sex differences since Gen IV, when sexual dimorphism was introduced. In the process, earlier Pokémon from Gens I-III have had sexual dimorphism retroactively applied as well, though it is being applied less often in subsequent generations, with as few as only one or two species exhibiting discernible sex differences.
Eevee, however, has only had sex differences included in Let's Go Eevee, and is only applicable to the partner Eevee (wild Eevee still look identical). However, I haven't checked if sex differences in Sword/Shield has been carried over from the Let's Go games (they haven't been applied in Pokémon GO, from memory) and therefore becoming canon going forward. |

It took me a few to find one that would become a Hitmonchan. No Hitmontop yet, mostly Hitmonlee. Hitmonchan has been one of my favorite Kanto Pokemon since I was a kid so I'll stick with it.

I finally managed to nab a Dawn Stone last night and evolve my Snorunt (which was lagging behind my now Lv. 40 Cinderace), and I have also just added Vespiquen to my team, and Koffing. I definitely want to leave some room for Gigantamaxed Appletun. Gigantamaxed Flapple and Appletun look completely identical from what I have seen. Do they not have any physical differences whatsoever? Even Mega Latias and Mega Latios were distinguishable by their eye colours (appearance-wise, they are indistinguishable otherwise). I was originally training Dottler thinking that I would be able to harness its evolved form's Gigantamax form by default, but Gigantamaxable Pokémon must be caught in a raid in their Gigantamax for them to be able to reach their full potential, so I quickly boxed it. |

Just got to gym challenge after destroying Team Yell on hotel. Clocked in approx. 5.38 hrs now lol I was at the town yesterday but instead of heading to gym challenge as suggested I went back into wild area as wouldn't to try and get hitmolee, hitmochan and hitmochan as I don't know if Tyrogue is available later. Ended catching another 5 Tyrogue to take me to 7 in total. I found myself going through the dynamax in rotation and got a sizzlipede, another hoothoot, bunnelby, applin, rockenrola, vullaby, grubbin, binnacle, and a few repeats that I didn't catch and then a honedge. Used the exp candy to speed up evolving my Tyrogues and ended up with 3 x hitmolees and 2 x hitmochans. Haven't evolved my remaining 2 but tried to get my Grookey, who's now evolved, to lv 20 as well as Pikachu, Noibat and sizzlipede. Binnacle is lv19 and grubbun and blitzbug are lv 19. Honedge is my weakest at lv15 at moment but very happy with party, especially as I haven't got to 1st gym battle.
Never expected to have a vast variety of types after a few hours and before the 1st gym. Part of me is wishing I choose Sobble now as don't really like Chewtle as new water type and unsure on Binnacle. Already have 3 strong grass in Applin, Stenee & Thwackey I think I have sweet apple to evolve Applin to so will double check next time. |

I've been busy playing only half way through so far and honestly it's been great. The lack of Dungeons is a bit disappointing I did feel a bit underwhelmed when I walked in to the first mine and was almost instantly out the other side.
The wild areas so far have been pretty big though, and it's made me realise that an entire game based on an open world like that might be a bit too overwhelming, although I feel the hand holding single direction you can take is a bit too linear so there needs to be a balance there. I'm pretty happy with the amount of Pokemon so far though. The new ones I've come across have actually been pretty cool, it's refreshing to have an entire team of new Pokemon. |

Clocked in about 17 hours so far and I'm only on my second badge.
I'm twiddling my thumbs trying to add Corsola to my team. I'm currently maining Cinderace, Froslass, Vespiquen, and Weezing. I was training a Dottler until I found out how Gigantamaxing works (a Pokémon must be caught in its Gigantamax form during a raid in order to be able to Gigantamax, and is not a default/inherited trait), so I cold-heartedly abandoned it. :P I'll consider adding its final evolution to my team, and also Gigantamax Appletun if I can nab their Gigantamaxed forms. |
