Gynysys didn't do well, then Dark Fate, which was quite a bit better, did even worse.

Why would they make another one any time soon ?

I would love to see this but I don't think it will ever happen.

I guess I'm stuck with Mortal Kombat 11.

I do wonder if the planned sequel to Genisys would have fared better financially than Dark Fate did. Genisys did 440mil worldwide which was far below what they wanted but leagues ahead of Dark Fate. The Genisys sequel would no doubt have grossed less than Genisys and probably lost money but it might have done better at the BO than Dark Fate.

No, I remember seeing a quick image of Toecutters eyes in Fury Road, just before his face became a permanent fixture to the front grill of a truck in the first film. So, it acknowledges the events of the prior film. But all four Mad Max films should really be considered loosely connected stand alone films. Miller didn't care much about continuity.

1. I still think people would love to this done right, but imagine a true prequel with a CGI de-aged Michael Biehn in the future war as it was depicted in the first two movies, like a stripped down Sci-Fi/Horror War film?

2. Dark Fate was shit but it doesn't mean a good sequel to T2 without the shitty woke politics and a grown-up John Connor couldn't work! I think Norman Reedus would be a great choice to play him. More practical stunts like in Judgement Day, not the ugly, over-blown CGI-fests since!

3. My personal choice. You could reboot it entirely, borrowing only the basic premise with new characters, style and tone. Imagine someone like Nicolas Winding Refn given carte blanche to do a visually gorgeous, neon-soaked Terminator film complete with synth soundtrack, or someone like S. Craig Zahler or Jermey Saulnier doing a grimy, nightmarish Horror movie with a Terminator hunting someone through a dystopic landscape?

4. There's some good stuff in the Terminator comic books that could be adapted also...

Point is, there's a lot that COULD be done but we all know the studio will go with safe 'yes men' directors and pared-down, easily digestible plots infected with whatever political agenda is in vogue at the time.
I’m sure there could be some good ideas, but the franchise has lost so much credibility that a good script probably wouldn’t prevent the film from underperforming.

Sadly, I think this is true. The storyline has become so convoluted to the point where people just donít really care anymore.

Written by Miller drawn by Simonson. One of my favorite graphic novels of all time. Some of the sequences would kill on the big screen.
