This thread is intended for members to share their custom picture settings for all SAMSUNG model TV's.
To help make life easier for others...please try to include (but not limited to): TV Model Number? Weather it's an ISF Calibrated setting or Disc calibrated setting? What Input Connection this setting is used for? (ex. HDMI, Component, Composite etc) What device is connected? (dvd player, bluray player, cable tv ..etc) What kind of room lighting you have? (dark, dim, bright etc) Any key features that are turned on or that should be turned off? Additional Info: *Calibrate Your HDTV* *Please do not criticize settings being shared...it is a courtesy to those who cannot afford an ISF calibration or do not own a calibration dvd. *Please also keep in mind that using someone else's settings may look good but it does not necessarily mean it will be ideal for your viewing pleasure and may require some tweaking. *It is also NOT recommended for anyone to go into the Service Menu to make any adjustments. ![]() Last edited by crackinhedz; 02-10-2008 at 01:15 AM. |

Thanks for making this a sticky. I am going to have a lot of questions as to how everyone has their TV set-up.
I have a Samsung HL-T5687s LED 1080p TV. Anyone that can share their settings to their TV that has a similar model would be greatly appreciated. ![]() |

Samsung 32" LNT3242H
still playing around with all the settings to be honest. Not sure what I like yet. I have a calibration disc but it's standard def. and the sharpness cali pic never seems to change a bit going from 1 to 100 ![]() Have a Samsung Blackjack too. Sweet phone, don't care what anyone says about Samsung, all my stuff works! ![]() Although I will be joining the XBR community soon with a nice 46" 4 series. woo! P.S. samsung LNT3253h is the exact same TV but a newer model. Has a small white-blue light on the bottom of the TV and no side speakers though. Edit: I suppose if I didn't post my current setting I would be thread pooping in a way, so here we go Standard Def/HD cable hooked up via component cables provided by my cable company. Figured there was no need for HDMI seeing as how only a 1080i can get through anyways. These settings also seem to work quite well with my PS3 be it video games or blu-rays hooked up via HDMI. I like to keep the room dim to dark especially when watching movies. (Bolded options are the most important) Picture Mode: Dynamic Constrast: 80 Brightness: 30 Sharpness: 35 Color: 40 Tint: G58/R42 Backlight: 8 Color Tone: Cool1 Size: 16:9 or Just scan while in HDMI Digital NR: Auto Active Color: ON DNIe: on Sound Mode: Custom SRS TruSurround XT: on Auto Volume: on Internal Mute: off seems to be working out nicely for me Last edited by PeechCobblerPie; 02-10-2008 at 07:53 AM. |

do you have auto volume on? When I first got my TV it was off and I needed to turn the volume up to like 60 or 70 to get a decent sound level, and with it was very statickey.

Samsung FP-T5084 50" Plasma 1080P HDTV
ISF Calibrated Blu-Ray Player Connected 20'X21' Media Room with 13' Ceiling - Medium Lighting and Adjustable Can lit Ceiling on Dimmer switch "Picture Settings" Mode - Movie Contrast - 80 Brightness - 50 Sharpness - 20 Color - 45 Tint - R50/G50 Color Tone - Warm2 "Detail Settings" Black Adjust - Off Dynamic Contrast - Off Gamma - 0 Color Space - Wide White Balance - All Offsets & Gains - 15 My Color Control - All Set To - 15 Edge Enhancement - Off xvYCC - Off Size - 16:9 Digital NR - Off "Sound" Custom Surround System "Setup" Menu Transparency - Medium Blue Screen - On Energy Saving - Off HDMI Black Level - Low NOTE: After calibration, color was diminished beyond what I personally thought looked good. I adjusted color up a couple of notches after calibration to meet my color standard. Calibration made a noticeable difference in diminished heat output. Blu-Ray looks phenomenal. Samsung 37" LA37S81BX 1080i LCD TV
Connected to PS3 through Yamaha RX-V1800 AVR THX/PIXAR Calibration "Picture Settings" Mode - Standard Contrast - 90 Brightness - 46 Sharpness - 50 Color - 40 Tint - 50 Color Tone - Normal "Detail Settings" Black Adjust - High Dynamic Contrast - High Gamma - 0 Color Space - Wide White Balance - All Offsets & Gains - Default My Color Control - All Set To - Default Edge Enhancement - On xvYCC - N/A Size - Just Scan Digital NR - Auto DNIe - On "Sound" Custom, TTX Vuirtual Surround On "Setup" Menu Transparency - Medium Blue Screen - On Energy Saving - Off HDMI Black Level - High NOTE: Tried both the THX calibration on the Indiana Jones Trilogy DVD and PIXAR's Ratatouille Blu-ray. But I found the PIXAR one is kind of inaccurate. Of course, the settings are subjective to a person's eyes. These what I preferred (at least in the "Detailed", the standard settings are calibrated). So, you may not agree when I put "Edge Enhancement" on and "Auto DNR" auto. The blu-ray movies look the best with these settings for me. By the way, does anyone know, if I turn the "Game Mode" off, if I play games extensively, will this affect the LCD TV? PS: Thanks to Edh63 for the template. ![]() Last edited by aiman04; 02-12-2008 at 12:48 AM. |

Bro, way off from your taste. Ya think that's a bit subjective to make a statement like, "It's way off"? What does my last comment say after calibration? You may need to tweak it to cater to your taste. You need to go back and read-up on why you calibrate in the first place. That would require some research though. You up to it?
