I think you're confusing the fancy 3-disc Collector's Edition w/ bonus disc (US release date: November 2020) with the standard 2-disc version from last month.

Whereas both the UK and Japanese discs are region free, so it's odd that the US one is the only one locked. Rules out the theory that it was a mistake.

So once and for all, which is the best 4K UHD version that doesn't have Edge Enhancement, altered color/contrast, and has good HDR? I have the JP 4K release, the HDR is great and all, but after getting my first OLED, I rather not have EE on it anymore.

I don't really care about dubs, but it should have subtitles in English or French.

US/UK/AU BD

Has better quality English subtitles than any other release. It also has Canadian-French subtitles of apparently bad quality.

1080p BD. The UHD upscale is not great in my opinion.

The US/UK/AU BDs are content-wise the same except for the region coding, so you should get the region B UK release.

Just watched the shout CE 4K UHD yesterday and it hard locked at 1:17:43. Rewinded multiple times and could not advance past that point.

In terms of movie I felt this one was weaker than both Suzume and your name.
