I'm hoping that the video extras are somewhat substantial this time. International BDs of Shinkai's pre-'Your Name' works came with a surprisingly good amount of extras.

If the CE has a 4K UHD of the film, and has lots of subbed extras, then I'll get it. Still probably gonna import the JP UHD of it, though.

Although not stated in the tweet, it appears that the distributor will likely be Shout Factory as the art looks closer to the recent GKIDS Shout Factory releases. Also, GKIDS has been releasing Collector's Editions and Steelbook recently through Shout Factory.

UPDATE: Amazon.com listing lists Shout Factory as the distributor. Guess that will mean that digital will not be Movies Anywhere (MA) compatible. Which means iTunes is the only meaningful digital retailer to get the film from (as iTunes would have both languages and the extras available).

Will either get the US Blu-ray (standard or Collector's release) release. Or go with JP Standard BD and then get the digital on iTunes for access to the dub and English subbed extras.

I got my JP UHD CE pre-order from Amazon JP, and it looks like they are ready to ship. So maybe by tonight I might get a shipping confirmation.

I don't really care about the 4K because it probably won't look good anyway since it's not from a real 4K source. I just want the CE version to compliment Your Name CE version.

I don't care about the resolution, it's the HDR that'll be the showstopper.

HDR and increased bitrate both made Your Name 4K worth it to me. It's the same with DCAU 4Ks.

Yeah, I have a Samsung NU8000 4K so I don't know how good the HDR really is compare to other TVs in that price range.

I will be watching the standard BD on my Panasonic Plasma though.

My TV isn't the best, but HDR is very noticeable on it, so I'd say it's worth checking out.
