Not a rumor, pretty much confirmed.

This movie is shaping up to be quite the trainwreck both behind the scenes (director change, budget ballooning) and story wise. Like, how many characters are they going to have?

Also bringing back characters that already "died" feels a bit tasteless given the Paul Walker situation. It also reeks of desperation.

The
[Show spoiler]Gal Gadot
leak is from a test screening. Test screenings aren't as safe as the movie studios think anymore.

It’s still not clear how the hell Han survived being in an exploding car.

I think I’m done with this series after F9. After that flustercuck, it seems there’s nowhere else for it to go but time/moon travel, aliens, dinosaurs, etc. Shit that has 0 place in a franchise about fast cars. My guess is this is gonna be the movie where they officially Jason X the franchise and elevate it from self-parody to laughing stock.

If I do see it, I’ll probably catch it on streaming sometime out of morbid curiosity.

I know people will defend F9 like "but bruh they went to space!", hope Vin and Co. brought some of the vibes from F5-F7 back to FX lol. At least those movies were fun schlock.

I think it would interesting if they did the film underwater. Like with subs and what not. I know there was a sub in F8, but that was right at the surface. They should modify their cars and go underwater. Maybe looking for the lost city of Atlantis or something like that.I think that, and maybe going into a volcano or climbing Mount Everest, is the only thing that they can do on Earth that they haven't done yet.

The way they explained Han surviving made absolutely no sense. Mr. Nobody got him out of the car without anyone seeing him and staged an explosion? With Han apparently knowing about it in advance?

So Mr. Nobody knew that Jason Statham was going to crash into Han head on at that exact intersection, and Han would survive, while at the same time Han was being chased by the Yakuza?

They should have just said he got out of the car before it exploded, but was immediately captured by Cypher or something. They didn't need to make it some nonsensical.

They should have just ended the series after Fast and Furious 8 anyway. It was a good enough ending for the series, even if The Rock and Vin Diesel refused to appear in a scene together.

I'd rather just see solo films with Statham's character at this point anyway

That would be cool. Make Cypher have an underwater base or something.

We should have a trailer soon, right?

The last two movies have been lesser offerings and bringing back another 'dead' character is very meh.

Maybe Brie can make it worth the watch?

Sadly, the franchise effectively ceased to really be about cars/racing years ago.

I've opined for a while now that they could use spin-offs as a way to keep building out the franchise while also having more car-related themes again. For example, Tej claimed way back in 2F2F that he had some 120 mph crash or something right? Couldn't there be a Tej-starring movie with him being in some kind of motorsport, be it what is now IndyCar, GT racing, etc? And Sean could be in some kind of Smokey and the Bandit-inspired road movie as he drives ... well, not a Trans Am I guess. And so on.

I haven't been keeping up with the series, but I can imagine it'll span a few more decades, with Vin Diesel being an old mentor, calling the shots of the family and what their next mission will be with racing cars, weapons and vehicles.

I think bringing back a fan favorite character you think is dead can be an awesome twist. But it should only be done once per movie or tv series, if you go to that well multiple times, it takes away any sense of stakes or emotion with character’s deaths.

In the final movie, everyone who has ever died in this series will be brought back and by the end they'll all be one big family.
