It's impossible for Microsoft's team to do the perfect job for all the "perfect" users (clients).
No two people use Windows 10 the same, and there are a lot of people out there using Windows 10.
My own personal experience doesn't matter; what does is the general experience of all Windows 10 users. Some have pleasant dreams, others have nightmares.
It's nice to be free so that way dreams are more pleasant ...
There are alternatives, others than Windows 10 ...

I have been using 64 bit CPU’s and operating systems for over 12 years now. Sometime in the future I hope AMD and Intel develops 128 bit CPU's and motherboards. Then Microsoft could develop 128 bit operating systems. Call the new operating system Windows 12 Ultimate 128 bit or Windows 12 Professional 128 bit. Then there would be 128 bit Office, Microsoft Edge 128 bit, and other 128 bit applications made specially for the new 128 bit computer systems.

Then this would give me an excuse to upgrade my computer and my family members computers.

Few useful guidelines (tips) before proceeding with the latest ... 1903 (from last May big update) ...
https://www.forbes.com/sites/marcoch...ng-for-your-pc

For regular people no problemo; everyone knows this.
But for seasonal folks ... who wants more drama in their lives?

Me I'm always prepared before a big major update. But 99% of my friends aren't.
Windows 10 should come with a six-week course.

Ok, perhaps less, but nonetheless it's not everyone who is super prepared like the experts.
And even the experts find million of issues with version 1903.

Another issue is that when TurboTax is released in November 2019 of this year it will not install and run at all under Windows 7. In 2020 there is going to be many third party software and hardware companies that are not going to offer support for people still using Windows 7.

To get around some of the missing features issues, I use PowerDVD 19 Ultra for Blu-ray and DVD playback. I use a third party Windows experience index in Windows 10.

Overall there is some benefits to using Windows 10 Professional 64 bit edition once one disables the potential privacy issues with the microphones, cameras, etc. Windows 10 Professional 64 bit is more secure and faster operating system. I also noticed for some tasks the operating system uses around 10+ watts less since it is more energy efficient, however other tasks appeared to take 20 or 30 watts more under Windows 10. Windows 10 takes sometime to get use too. The Windows 10 automatic and manual update is much faster and greatly improved when compared to Windows 7.

I really like Microsoft Office 2019 64 bit Edition. It took awhile to download and burn a DVD-R installation disc. Some nice improvements when compared to Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit Edition.
Update: While it is true that when using TurboTax for the year 2018 that a message pops up on the screen mentioning that TurboTax 2019 and beyond requires Windows 10 and will not work with Windows 7. That policy has been recently changed and the coming November 2019 version of TurboTax will run on Windows 7, it is the November 2020 version of TurboTax that will not install and run on Windows 7 (Therefore people will need to upgrade to Windows 10).

I wish they ported Turbo Tax 2020 to Windows Subsystem for Linux 2.0 on Windows 10. Then Turbo Tax would work on Ubuntu and Windows 10.

There should be no reason why TurboTax can't install on Windows 7 unless Intuit is specifically preventing the installation.

For the coming 2020 version of TurboTax that will be released around November of 2020, they are making the software so that it only installs and runs from Windows 8x and Windows 10. Windows 10 has some features that Windows 7 does not and the programmers are not planning on supporting or making TurboTax work on Windows 7. Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7 with security updates.

My computer and my family members computers are running Windows 10. Most consumers are using Windows 10 now since Windows 7 is no longer supported.

I agree with this. Windows 7 is at end of life. You can't expect companies to design software for unsupported operating systems.

I like building my own desktop computers and choosing the hardware components to use and have done so for over 20 years (motherboard, case, power supply, etc). The reason I do not like MAC computers is because one cannot custom build their own PC. I wish the MAC operating system would run on Intel and AMD, but since it does not I am a Windows 10 Professional 64 bit fan.

I have a few years experience building PCs myself as well, went and got all the CompTIA A+ certs and stuff. If you want the best bang-for-your-buck, building it is the way to go. One thing I love about Windows 10 is that you don't have to go through the headaches with drivers like I did with Windows 7. Everything just sort of worked the way it was supposed to. It took about 45 mins for me to go through and adjust all the settings and privacy features the way I wanted them, but it hasn't reverted back yet.

Macs are decent computers but they are pretty expensive for the features you are getting. Apple doesn't really want you working on them yourself - they want you to come in and buy a new one. They are kind of like the BMW of computers imo. Their stuff does work nice if you have other Apple products though.

Yup I love Windows 10 Pro even if it doesn't have tons of useful features over just Home edition. But I like being able to remote into my desktop PC and being able to password-protect drives so that my parents can't get at certain stuff when they come visit

QUOTES:

"Windows 7 users be advised: Microsoft is ending support for the OS today.

After Jan. 14, 2020, your PC will no longer receive security updates, and Microsoft's customer service will stop providing technical support. Translation: if a major bug hits Windows, those on Windows 7 won't get the patch when Redmond rolls it out."

"As of December 2019, Windows 10 is the most popular operating system globally with 54.6 percent market share. But Windows 7 is still at 26.64 percent, according to Net Applications."

Microsoft, be advised. I don't need your security updates or your technical support. My existing Windows 7 computers will remain on Windows 7 until they outlive their usefulness.
