I'll probably get to this eventually when I'm caught up on a few other shows I'm trying to watch. I watched the first season of this a while back and enjoyed it well enough. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

if this goes beyond season 2 I'll really be surprised.

[Show spoiler]Joe was incredibly sloppy in season 1 he shoulda been caught...

however....it is refreshing to sometimes see the villain come out on top.

I've watched the first 2 episodes so far. It's solid but so far hasn't captured my attention the way the first season did from the start. So far it's basically repeating the same formula from season one but switches the locale to Los Angeles.

The "shocking" twist from the season 1 finale gets dealt with in fairly anti-climatic fashion. Thumbs down for that.

Could you remind me what that was?

this 2nd season is NO WHERE NEAR as good as the first season. I actually was getting bored in the 2nd half of watching this today.

The ex-girlfriend showing up in the bookstore at the finale. (this is a very minor spoiler as it was only a subplot tied to the backstory of the protagonist in season 1)

The way it's dealt with at the start of season 2 is anti-climatic but I'm on episode 5 now and that subplot comes back with a pretty cool twist.

The first couple of episodes are pretty good but lack a certain punch since more or less the show hits the reset button and we go through a variant of the original story.

End of episode 4/Episode 5 starts to feel like they are going to branch off somewhere new...and I'm starting to get hooked again.

Certainly better than The Witcher (awful) and Lost in Space (solid but too commercial/family minded to risk being great)

[Show spoiler]The real Will is a little too nonchalant for being a prisoner.

The LA influencer vernacular is becoming very irritating. I don't know how much longer I can tolerate this lol.

Suspension of disbelief is one thing but this show is just ridiculous.

[Show spoiler]Joe is pretty much becoming Dexter lite - an incredibly sloppy one at that.

it was like that in season 1...he was far too sloppy, and made way too many mistakes...genius as he was, just too sloppy.

[Show spoiler]sure let's bash our GFs friend with a rock while running in the park, and then just toss the bloody rock, which by the way YOU WEREN'T WEARING ANY GLOVES....into the grass about 20ft away.

However, Penn Badgley does such a great job as Joe in general....he's like Patrick Bateman lite i think.

You must take place in some wacky alternate universe with incompetent homicide detectives lol.

Penn is fantastic though. Easily the brightest spot of the show.

Finished the second season. I'd give it a 6/10 and say that it's a step down from the first season. There are some inspired moments in the plotting and some wonderful gallows humor but there's too much plot recycling from the first season. It also feels like they toned down some of the genre/thriller elements and cranked up the soap operatics...which goes against my personal tastes.

Not sure I'm all that interested in a third season.

I like this show because it kinda replace all the soap operas around the world and its refreshing.

It doesnt bother me that 80% of this stuff couldnt happen in the real world, i guess maybe...

Season 1 followed the first book pretty close, with the exception of a few added plots/characters. Has anyone read the second novel, Hidden Bodies, that season 2 was adapted from?

Watched both seasons over the past few weeks... wild show. Totally ridiculous, but always entertaining.

Penn Badgley is definitely great... and Victoria Pedretti in season 2 was a huge improvement from the actress that played Beck.

I really enjoyed the first season. But I LOVED the second. So much fun. So many twists and turns. Definitely reminding me of Dexter but that's fine.

I'm probably going to sound like a nutjob but the end of Season 2 kind of pissed me off.

[Show spoiler]I just want him and Love to be happy together. She did a lot for him and lost her brother. Stop looking idiot! You've met someone perfect for you.

Also I don't know why I'm rooting for them lol. But it's just a show so whatever.
