If you're buying movies on iTunes in anticipation of a 4K upgrade or extras being added, then you need to consider the risk that it might not happen.

That happens all the time in the UK, we’ve got loads that have never turned 4K.

I agree with Gonzo about the loss of potential 4K upgrades, but that is a secondary issue. My initial point stands that this is absolutely not a case of a provider taking something out of my library.

Also, maybe it is just me, but I assume all discussions are around the US store. If it is different across the pond, a vast majority of us wouldn’t have any clue. Best to clarify that you aren’t talking about the US store.
I did clarify the store in question and I also ask people to specify the store they are discussing.

Most people outside the US do, but there is a mix of nationalities here so people in the US also need to specify. The internet has no borders

Can you tell me which of your Tarantino's changed distributor lately?

Is Inglorious Basterds the only one that did not have extras?

It’s not necessarily a case there won’t be a 4K upgrade when the time comes, there’s quite a few of relisted movies where the original listing still gets the upgrade.
Is The Crow still with the same distributor the had the extras?

Love that movie but have not thought about it is a long time and did not know it had extras.

No it was originally listed as Miramax, but now Lionsgate which seems odd as to why the new relisted one doesn’t have extras.
From all the info on their listings they’re both identical from what I can see, it’s just my original purchase still has the extras.
The UK finally got The Crow added to the store last month but under Entertainment Film Distributors and that doesn’t have extras either which isn’t that much of a surprise, and it’s also only got Stereo sound unlike the US which is 5.1.

No problem. Just adds a layer of confusion since it can be different per store.

Looks like the only one the store shows me as owning is Reservoir Dogs. So I’d say all of the rest changed. My copies do still have extras.

IB is the only one that did not have extras, and never did. I am assuming I will be rebuying it when Universal releases the 4K disc anyway. Though Universal never adds extras to catalog titles, so we are stuck. I don’t think there were any new extras added by Lionsgate.

What’s confusing Lol, your question was about The Crow and that’s what I was responding to.
I have it in my US library as it wasn’t previously available in the UK until last month.

Lionsgate have been an utter beacon of hope in the UHD disc release media, and ANYTHING they get their hands on I'm glad for this. They are a smaller studio and they have year after year put every major studio to shame for catalog releases on UHD. Every one.

I think there is some confusion. Many titles, like Pulp Fiction, are still showing Miramax on iTunes in the US but have now been re-released due to the ownership change. It’s actually Paramount / CBSViacom that bought a bigger stake in Miramax. So some of these movies may be under Paramount now — not Lionsgate.

If you look at some of the titles on Vudu, they actually display Paramount now. See this link for Pulp Fiction.

https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...-Fiction/12957

Just want to set expectations as far as future 4K is concerned even though Paramount may one day do it as well.

I wish I could! There are so many fox catalog titles I'd love on UHD. Star Wars was inevitable, but other that that we have so little from such a huge studio...

Be nice if Lionsgate could release The Field (1991) with Richard Harris on blu ray

How long until someone one day upgrade these movies chasing Amy and jay and silent bob strike the reason I ask is chasing Amy had dnr and maybe edge enhancement done to it and jay and silent bob strike back looks like an upscale. Sadly the only film of Kevin Smith’s to get a new transfer is mallrats.

Is that by attempting to play or are you just basing that on not seeing an iTunes extras icon when you open the listing?
I’ve got The Crow which still has extras, well at least it did the last time I looked.
