some of you guys are going to some crazy locations. wow.

Because of work I get to go to LA and San Fran once or twice a year for a week at a time (the wife gets to go too). So that's always a fun vacation. I'm usually free by lunchtime so we have the rest of the day to do whatever. And work pays for everything so that's the best kind of vacation.

My actual vacation time is usually just spent visiting family but I want to plan a trip somewhere fun this coming year.

We're going to the Finger Lakes region of New York for a week in June. We're staying at a really nice Bed and Breakfast.

I did northern Norway for Xmas and it was utterly amazing. Something I'll always remember. Off to Florida again in April for some sun - and the Boggy Creek Airboat rides lol.

I'm looking to take a month off for my 40th next year (christ I sound old! ) to do a trip with various destinations. New Zealand, Bora Bora/French Polynesia, Singapore, California and....I dunno ! Maybe Canada or Alaska again?

Going on an Alaska cruise later this year Never been, so I am looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll be able to see the northern lights, and I am looking forward to seeing some wild bears.

Last year, we were in Italy, which was amazing! Being a Roman history buff, it was great to finally see all of the places I had read about

Alaska is stunning Gaius.

If you get to do a glacier trip on the cruise, then go for it.

Thinking of going to Florida to visit my brother and his family for Thanksgiving. He calls me every week wanting to know If I have booked my plane tickets. Hes planning this heavy itinerary wants to take my girls to Disney world, Universal, Sea World etc etc. We live in Nebraska so we dont have those kind of things so they will like that.

I really dont feel like going, but its a good chance for my daughters to me their cousins and what not. It just looks like its going to get expensive fast.

I went to Florida with my girlfriend this year. We do a vacation every winter to get out of the cold. Here's my impression if you care lol... BTW I don't have kids so it might be skewed. It was my first time to Disney and I hated it lol.. I think if anything Animal kingdom is cool but spending around $300 a person , Just so super crowed it's insane, I have never seen crowds like that in my life. Its a good day if you make it on 8 rides with an hr long wait for each. And on both days we went we got fast passes and the rides kept breaking down so thats pretty much useless.

Seaworld was a good 6hrs, They have some good shows and and a few fun coasters. Same thing though, rides out of order. but not bad and cheaper.

Universal is by far my favorite of the bunch and although also expensive it's got the value. They have the Front of the line pass. Which was like an extra $90, based on disney and the massive crowd of people we got it and then there was no waits lol... Next day we went back and it was hr long waits all day.

Anyway's thats my 2 cents. I'd go back to universal for sure, but I don't think I'll every go to disney again in my life.

Just got back from Seaworld and Universal studios Island adventures. Great trip and I learned a lot for the next time we go (probably 2015 once HP expansion is done)

If anyone else is going to Universal, I have some good tips if you need them.

Dumb question perhaps, but you mean next March? Where are you from? That sounds like an awesome trip!

Less than six months to go for my Ireland trip and I still haven't planned anything

well has anyone been anywhere exciting lately? Wanted to go back to Europe this year but not happening unfortunately. Will probably take a short trip to British Columbia this September and then hope to do Czech Republic or possibly Germany, Austria or Switzerland next year. Fodor's has a pretty good message boards so will head there for ideas

I'm going on a month long vacation in September, and it's going to be EXPENSIVE I've already gotten my 3 airline tickets (for only about $400 total). Travelling by train for the other stops.

Heading to Atlanta for about 5 days to celebrate my birthday with family. Then about 8 days in Washington, DC. I've just booked the Capital Hilton (payment not due until I arrive) and already purchased a ticket for the Braves/Nationals. Then a few nights in Philly and a night in Atlantic City. Then it's 10 days in New York City and the hotels there are . Then a few last days in Boston, where I already have a ticket for the next to last game of the season between the Red Sox and Yankees.

Wow you're going to have a great time I think! Have you been to any of those places before? I've been to all those places except for Atlantic City. Didn't spend enough time in any of them though. Atlanta we just spent the day enjoying before we caught our flight back home. Did tour the Coke factory. NY was just for the US Open tennis tournament in '05 so literally did no sightseeing since we were watching tennis all day. Loved Atlanta the short time I was there and really enjoyed Boston. Saw a Sox/Blue Jays game and checked out Harvard.
If you had time for it, would you have any interest in visiting Gettysburg?

Damn, that does sound like one hell of a vacation you have planned You probably know about this site, but you can check tripadvisor for reviews of places you might stay, eat or visit
