I'll probably get crucified, but I like to recreationally read atlases (A.K.A. road maps). Flame suit on.

The Great Gatsby is the best piece of literature ever written.

Reading destroys your eyes like running destroys your knees.

Reading (offline) is obsolete.

Reading is too boring now in the modern world.... Movies for the win!

Some stuff classically regarded as "good for you" is anything but.

Regarding the works of Stephen King, THE STAND, IT and THE DARK TOWER IV: WIZARD AND GLASS are very overrated (the last 100 pages of THE STAND and IT almost ruin everything that came before, and a lot of WIZARD AND GLASS is just boring).

On the other hand, THE DARK TOWER V: WOLVES OF THE CALLA and THE DARK TOWER VI: THE DARK TOWER are severely underrated. Furthermore, CHRISTINE is the best book he ever wrote.

Every non-Stephen King book I read, no matter how enjoyable, I always think to myself, "Stephen King would have written this better."

It's been quite some time since I've read The Stand, but I recall it being among his best. To this day I think of that book whenever I have to touch doorknobs or interac machines.

If that's the case, you must think about The Stand a hell of a lot.

I guess there may have been a slight exageration. But how
[Show spoiler]the virus spread
in The Stand hasn't been lost on me and maybe even made me
[Show spoiler]a germaphobe.
I think about that whenever I have to
[Show spoiler]touch something that's been touched by hundreds or even thousands of people before me.

*Don't read the spoilers above if you haven't read The Stand. Just read that awesome book.

If you cannot enjoy a Pratchett Discworld-book, there is something wrong with you.
(Nothing severe, but it is there. Just a heads-up.)

The Shining is way overrated. Most of the book is boring. The story doesn't really start until the very end. It feels like at least 2/3 is just introduction stuff. The horror aspects don't work at all for me.
