2 Novels I didn't much care for from King were Lisey's Story and From a Buick 8.
My personal favorites are Pet Semetary, IT, Carrie, Cell, Cujo, Misery, The Green Mile, The Dead Zone, and Under the Dome.

A film adaption of Cell is coming out this year I believe. I have yet to read Joyland or Doctor Sleep. Haven't read much of anything lately actually. I will eventually though.

Joyland sounded good too...almost got that but went with It...

The Kindle edition of DIFFERENT SEASONS can be had for a paltry $2.54 today, if you move fast.

Click on the hyperlink "Click here for Stephen's announcement." and you'll see it's an (IMO bad taste, since CHRISTINE is my all-time favorite King novel) April Fool's joke.

i liked : how Danny Torrance was again introduced and how he lived his life.

did not like : true knot - not enough info, too vague, their killings were not horror enough - not very convinsing enemy.

specially did not like : the ending - suddenly all true knot members were dead and their leader too ?!

wanted : something to do more with original overlook ....

left a bit luke warm feeling.

I AM SK fan !

sorry about possible spoilers ---oops !

click couple of times the picture and it becomes bigger (when in collection), but the titles are in Finnish.

Favorites are :

The Shining
The Stand (despite again weak ending IMO)
Pet Sematary
The Talisman
The Tommyknockers
Black House

there you go ...

BLACK HOUSE is the sequel to THE TALISMAN (both books are actually co-authored by King and Peter Straub), and it features a healthy tie-in to the DARK TOWER series, as well. Most fans strongly prefer THE TALISMAN, but I vehemently disagree--BLACK HOUSE is vastly superior to THE TALISMAN, which I find to be a highly overrated entry in King's canon. Perhaps the polarization in fan opinions is because of the major stylistic shift between the books. TALISMAN plays like a fantasy novel, whereas BLACK HOUSE hews more towards straight horror.

agree.

I like the serial killer plot. I know, I know serial killers are kind of cliche these days, but in black house it works and is very well build up.

do read the book !

Any other books as good as The Green Mile? I like spooky King as much as the next person, but The Green Mile was something special. Admittedly I haven't read the novel, but I did enjoy the movie very much.

Effective today, PET SEMATARY is finally available for Kindle. Still no word on my personal favorite of his, CHRISTINE, inexplicably the last classic of his first powerhouse fifteen years that has yet to appear as an ebook.

I tried to read IT again and what can I say... I am at chapter 23 ("Out") now. So I have almost finished it. It is a very good book, with some great characters and many creepy moments. Very scary during certain parts. But not all the horror stuff works imo. I think it is too long though. Way too many uninteresting supporting characters and background info on them. But the stuff that works (and that it a lot) works extremely well. Will finish IT (pun intended) tomorrow
