I liked Master & Apprentice and Bloodline. I'm becoming a big Claudia Gray fan. Into the Dark next month could put me over the top.

Just finished Light of the Jedi, a solid 3 stars (maybe 3.5) out of 4 for me. A good start with the world building showing lots of promise, but I did feel the narrative was
[Show spoiler]a little too sprawling for its own good and lacked an easily discernible central character
. I also wasn't bowled over by the Nihil...
[Show spoiler]until the very end, when they seemed to coalesce from an aimless, disparate group of pirates to a hardened, committed force of zealots with an objective
. I also like that Starlight Beacon is being positioned as
[Show spoiler]the antithesis to the Death Star, and that it's also capable of fulfilling whatever needs future writers and future scenarios might require.
Looking forward to the next book!

^ That tall spire atop the Starlight Beacon is giving me some unintended Eye of Sauron vibes....

In regards to Starlight Beacon
[Show spoiler]I think its going to be even more like the DS when it gets destroyed by the Nihil. The vision at the end of LOJ indicates a great calamity and that is almost certainly part of it.

After finishing my listen of LOJ and reading Courage, the comic, and the 3 sample chapters of Into the Dark I have exhausted all of HR and definitely need more of it.

Finished the great disaster arc in LOTJ. Really enjoy how powerful the Jedi seem to be in this story so far.
[Show spoiler]Master Kriss connecting all the Jedi together through the force was cool and also enjoyed how Master Greatstorm was able to pick up all the maureders into the air at once even though the were hiding in the dense crowds.
Excited to see what the next two arcs of the novel produce force power wise.

The jedi of the HR era so far seem to have a belief of invincibility about themselves, like their is nothing they can't do and they cannot fail. So that helps in fuel a greater connection to the force and greater abilities. Conversely, the Jedi we see later in say, the PT are much more reserved and cautious and have greater self doubt.
They are also much more insular, as shown with them being in total denial about the sith in Ep 1.

In regards to Avar Kriss's ability
[Show spoiler]its actually exactly the same as the old legends force ability of Force Meld and to some extents Battle Meditation, which ironically is used more by the Sith in the old EU.

I love how Avar Kriss describes hearing the Force like a song. I think others had their own descriptions, but I can't remember theirs at the moment. She could easily become one of my favorite characters. I'd like to find out more about Porter Engle too.

Also, sorry to go off topic from High Republic, but I finished Lost Stars and wow. Just wow. I'm blown away. Now I'm even more excited for Into the Dark, also by Claudia Gray.

Not all of these are High Republic of course, and some are no longer canon, but thought I'd try to make a list of all the Star Wars books and comics I've read. I'm not the most well read, but I'm sure there are more I've forgotten.

Light of the Jedi
Lost Stars
Master & Apprentice
Tag and Bink
Doctor Aphra

Heir to the Empire
William Shakespeare's Star Wars
Dooku: Jedi Lost
Bloodline
Aftermath

Catalyst
A Test of Courage
Cobalt Squadron
Shadows of the Empire

@Rodney-2187, what is that box set in the Cavan Scott video? Sold in stores, or just something nifty for the writers only?
