Good news so far, Series 2 and 3 both have PCM 2.0 and DTS 5.1 (full fat 1.5mbps).

That seems to be a copy and paste I guess from the Dolby website they have put in the copyright section on the bottom of the back of the box.

All it says on the back of the box is Dolby Audio (which tells you nothing useful). Same on the back of the plastic case sleeves.

Many labels actually confuse DVD region 2 with BD zone B and use the wrong symbol on their packaging so Acorn not alone there.

Yep Series 1 is 2.0 PCM only, S2-S6 have both PCM 2.0 and DTS 5.1. Strange that the Dolby logos are all over the packaging.

The DVDs have Dolby Digital tracks, so likely another carry over from that (like the R2 DVD stuff). Still, pleasing that they gave more DTS 5.1 tracks than I thought they would have - very nice!

On the back of the set under Special Features is includes subtitles so I'd assume yes... especially as it says the same on the back of each 2-season HD keep case.

As said they're so confused that they have the Region 2 logo on the packaging, as though they were DVDs bot Blu-rays so who I'd guess they've copied what's on the DVD set!

Was just about to answer your question but I see you answered it yourself!

Yes, all discs are region ABC. Only limitation is 1080i/50 and PAL content. Discs look decent enough at a quick spin. Certainly an improvement over the German releases. A slight shame Acorn didn't opt for making the 5.1 tracks lossless, but I'm grateful they included them at all - and that they finally released the earlier series on blu.

the 2.0 sounds really good though, i dunno if dts is even required since it is mostly a talking show.

What do you mean? It's been a while since I've watched the earlier seasons but I remember the recap bits were mostly part of the opening credits.

Like you could hit skip and it could go 2 minutes ahead and skip the recap.. Now on season 5 it skips to 9 to 11 minutes. Marathoning need to save as much time as possible .

Gotcha. Yeah that is a bit odd but I'm sure there are others TV shows on blu like that too. I know the usual way is that the 2nd chapter would usually start at the very first scene after the opening credits.
