The forums at Blu-ray.com. It's a rather interesting read too. Kind of like an interactive novel.

I am finishing up Game of Thrones by Martin.
Ive read every R.A. Salvatore book, along with dozens of other Forgotten Realms books, and in fact I meant to say Pirate King is what I am reading, I got mixed up.

I don't necessarily agree they have gone downhill, but they are not consistent. Homeland, Sojourner, and Exile were amazing, and I felt books like Spine of the World were junk. I actually like this new series quite a bit. Nothing has had the magic of Homeland, but I still like them.

I love Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn. Also, Legacy, Starless Night, Siege of Darkness, Passage to Dawn, and The Silent Blade were all great.

I have to say that I hated the last trilogy (The Hunter's Blades) and disliked The Orc King enough so that I don't know if I can read The Pirate King.

Have you read the Demon Wars Saga by Salvatore? I believe it is 7 books, but it is an amazing series. As a big Drizzt fan, I have to say it is his best work.

I never could get into R.A. Salvatore. He seemed to be entirely too munchkin for me. I think it was his Cleric Quintet series that finally got me just not reading him anymore when one of the Clerics was telling a God what to do. I was just like yeah, no. That doesn't work. I did though enjoy his Crimson Cloak? series. I was more into the Dragonlance series mostly Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman's books, and am eagerly anticipating the newest Dragons book with Raistlin in it.

Hands down my favorite Forgotten Realms series was when the Gods were banished, and Kelemvor, Cyric, and Midnight had to return the tablets to the Gods, and also there was a series about the Goddess and the Isles, where the Beast was corrupting everybody and the Moonpools? It has the book Black Wizards in it.

Fantasy wise though in general, my favorite series has to be David Farland's original 4 Runelords books. The newest ones don't quite seem up to par with the originals, but I am still enjoying them.

I really think you would like Salvatore's Demon Wars Saga.

Anyone have any thoughts/recommendations on Cthulhu? I've been looking to delve in to some Lovecraft for a little while now, and the shared universe aspect interests me greatly. Would this be a good start - http://www.amazon.com/Tales-Cthulhu-...3270497&sr=8-3?

BTW how do you create clickies?

Please tell me they aren't munchkin books and I'll give them a read! I'm always looking for new series to read, because I burn through books entirely too fast. I've got two bookshelves double stacked and need a third one.

I've calmed down buying books so much just because there's not many new ones coming out and I am stuck waiting on authors to release more books and praying they don't die before they finish. It's sad when you've been reading the same author for years and they pass away. Jack Chalker was one of the ones that hit me the hardest, I've always enjoyed the Well World series and hoped more of them would come out, I hope he is resting in peace.
