Thanks for the info Munciple and BBR. Good to see YRS having this on their website.

Prices are nice too. Assuming they are region free I amy pick up a few from India in Dec.

Of course if the quality is at par with Heyy Babyy,Sawaariya and OSO.

After hearing the horror stories on PQ of the new BRs from Eros and then having a look at the YRF website on this thread I wrote to Yashraj Films 1 hr back and was surprised to get a quick reply from them.

I asked about the quality of discs and if they are mutiregion. Here is the reply

Quote:
Dear Anirban,

Thanks for your interest in our products. My comments as under.

1. All our BRD would be all region and you can buy them from anywhere in the world. In fact, we just released New York on this format and you can buy it in London. You can contact our distributor Nuff or our local office for any assistance.

2. We follow strict quality control at YRF and please be assured that all our products would be of top quality. We are authoring outside India and are following all necessary steps to ensure that all our BRD titles are of the best quality.

Regards,

Vijay
If they are authoring outside India I hope they are done well and upto international standards. The prices in India is very tempting. Only Rs 600 + 10% discount on preorder. Great stuff . Will get a few on preorder.

What will be fun to see is how they will do Kabhi Kabhi and Silsila since neither have digital negatives ..

Kabhi Kabhie has been digitally restored by Prasad EFX so that should not be a problem.

I believe the U.S. version is like an epic big box...I have the Indian release...just a typical YRF fold out cardboard case.

Haha yes we are. It's those little cardboard cases that fold out. I actually like them better.

You can't. This is for India only. I have asked my brother to get this sorted and I will collect from him in Dec while in India.

The prices in UK will be at least £15 so the Indian prices are just too tempting.

Let's see if they come up with something similar outside India. With these kind of promotions they can sell loads in the overseas market than the indian market. Hope they understand this.

Sanjay you seem to have a lot of anger against EROS, and Yash Raj Films. Seriously tone it down. I fail to see that your going get anywhere with writing stuff like "DO NOT BUY THE CRAP BEING PUT OUT BY THE LIKES OF EROS AND YASH RAJ"

Guess his concern is genuine. The folks in India definitely would believe this is what 1080p is supposed to look and sound like.

I guess it is a genuine concern. While I agree with the concern of no HD audio on the Blu-Ray Disc by YRF, that does not make YRF's first Blu-ray disc "crap"

Hopefully the future 10 releases will contain the HD audio. With the help of the person who is in touch with the Bollywood Studio's I would guess that the future Blu-Ray disc releases will contain the HD audio that from YRF.

Considering that I never buy pirated DVDs it is very frustrating to be dished out subpar quality with superimposed logos, forced advertisements in return for my money. It is even more frustrating when at times you see pirated material that is actually far superior to the so called origianls form the likes of Eros & Yash Raj. The end result is that friends who simply download for free get a far superior product while I feel stupid time and time again for having spent my money on DVDs that are of subpar quality.

Sanjay's language may be not be the most diplomatic but in principle what he is saying is correct. If OSO, Jodhaa Akbar can get good releases then why not these current movies? Looks like Eros and YRF are trying to make a fast buck.

If YRF can get those transfer done properly WITH lossless sound, I am buying half of those movies. Otherwise they get ignored like the current Eros blu-ray releases.
