Default Timeless Season One Blu-Ray (Australia)

Via Vision Entertainment is releasing Timeless Season 1 on Blu-Ray on August 7 2019. You can pre-order it on Booktopia now (but I suggest waiting as JB Hi-Fi and Amazon will put it up closer to release at a cheaper price).

I think Australia is the only country in the world to be getting this on Blu-Ray. Via Vision delivering great stuff as always!

I'm happy about this. Really enjoying this show, I'll be getting it, but being a niche distributor, there will be the risk of them not releasing season two if this one doesn't sell.

ViaVision tends to put the whole series out unless they do especially poorly (as with the BD releases of Quantum Leap S1 and SeaQuest DSV S1). Given it's a two season series, I'd be surprised if they didn't release the other one as well.

Good news! I see on the B2B website, Madman are releasing season two on BD in November.... Hopefully this includes the final double part special as well. It was released separately on DVD in the U.S.

For US members, Deep Discount has it up for preorder (releasing 9/27/19) for $30.21. If the price stays the same it would be $25.68 during a 15% off sale.

Anyone know if this is region free or if it has any special features? Also a review of the video/audio would be great.

It's $28.91 on DD now, so 15% will bring it below the $25 free shipping amount unless you want to pair it with something else. If they are offering season one, I'd be surprised if a preorder didn't go up here shortly. Order both during a sale and get that free shipping.

The season two finale on DVD is only about $5 less then seasons one and two on their site. If you want all of season two on DVD you're looking at $40 or so, or wait and grab the blu for probably less then that.

Going to wait for reviews of the two sets (especially about the transfer and audio). Was a bit late in discovering Timeless, but after reading some of the second season episode synopses, I was interested. Was glad when I read about the Australian Blu-ray release of the first season (and also about the first season of Colony).

Region 1 works on my normal BD player, but season 2 plays the copyright and Via Vision screens, then just goes black and never loads any menus or anything past that. My 4K player plays them both fine though with no problem.

Has anybody bought season 2 and noticed episodes 8 was too dark and 9 and 10 were too bright (9 was brighter than 10)? And the campfire scene in The Miracle of Christmas pt 1 was a little too bright as well. They almost look like web streaming versions from NBC's website.

The back of the releases say "Due to the quality of some of the original elements, some visual and audio imperfections may be experienced. If you experience any playability issues with this disc please contact:" and gives an email address and phone number. I was tempted to email them about it, but it's not an issue with playback, and I almost don't want them knowing I'm in America and then they decide to start locking their releases as it seems they did with Future Man lol

The back cover of season two clearly states that there is no subtitles on that one. Probably the same for season one.

I ended up bying the DVDs instead (which has english subtitles), and downloading norwegian subtitles from a streaming provider I subscribe on.

I finally picked this up but i haven't opened it yet. Can anyone confirm if there's burned in subtitles for the non english speaking parts? For instance IIRC the pilot was set during the Hindenburg disaster so i'm sure there might be a few bits of German dialogue.

Thanks in advance

Well would you be able to answer your own question here if the burned in subtitles for the non english dialogue been said has them?

I know theres sadly no normal english subtitles for this set.
But how are the discs overall & would they be what you would expect from the modern show on blu-ray?
Even though the sound format seems to be dolby digital instead of DTS.

PQ is awesome. I also have it on Vudu and the Blu ray runs rings around it.

I've seen part of the first episode (haven't yet begun my rewatch of the show) but from what i did see there isn't any burned in subs for the non english dialogue unfortunately
