Absolutely. But so would you or I in that situation. He is like a crazed mad man with that axe and it is all gut, there is no actual talent for violence in it. He is fighting for his life. In a one on one in say a street, Bond would have snapped his neck in a few seconds, but the sensory deprevation of that situation would far more impacting with the explosions and not what. They played that just right I think.

I've seen quite a few directors mention how they've been re-editing and cutting down their movies during the pandemic, one of which is David Lowery who re-edited the entirety of The Green Knight.
Now, obviously Fukunaga probably didn't have final cut and the freedom to do whatever he wanted, but at the same time I feel like him and the Broccolis should have given the movie a more thorough look over during the lockdown and bring it down to about 2.5 hours. We know they didn't touch the movie once it was finalized pre-pandemic. |

Sadly I don't know how any edits could fix Obruchev, because that character was in a comedy when everybody else was in a Bond film. That was another big drawback sadly. Was it? That a single touch to somebody's person that has a certain genetic coding may end up killing them immediately from the inside out, and that it is permanently inside you forever without any cure/treatment? No - that’s what makes it so standout. I assume you don’t like the two Bourne films directed by Paul Greengrass?

There are extensive video breakdowns on YouTube of how the Bourne movies use shakycam for a purpose in a way that's actually clear, and every other film aping it just jolts the camera around at random without understanding why it works.

Peter Hunt and John Boorman were doing this shit 40 years before Greengrass.

I'm fine with Lashana's character, even if she's underdeveloped, it serves the plot (to show that MI6 moved on from Bond and to give him competition). Personally, I would just cut out Blofeld and Spectre. They probably wanted to have every loose end resolved up by the end of Craig's run but this subplot really felt shoehorned it. |

I find The Bourne Ultimatum to very, very difficult to watch at times because of how it is shot. It's just too much and comes across poorly. It was also something widely discussed when it was released theatrically.

[Show spoiler] was very unsatisfying.I still think that 007 II had nothing to do here but stand as a symbol of change. |

Except the nanobots are mentioned in the making-of book, which was printed in advance of the original release and has a publication date of March 2020 printed inside, I believe. The books sat in a warehouse for nearly two years before they went on sale.

It's really pretty simple, doesn't even require a YouTube video. The Bourne movies (and United 93 and Bloody Sunday) are staged as it they're a documentary, filmed in real time, with camera operators who are making decisions as events unfold, so the camera is always finding what needs to be seen at that moment. It's expertly done. Most other movies that copy Bourne don't get this, and just apply random, arbitrary shaking, whip pans and movement that's totally unmotivated to poorly staged handheld photography. Every bit of movement in the Bourne movies (and United 93 and Bloody Sunday) is motivated by onscreen action. |

Went to buy all the Bond movies from iTunes yesterday, since Never Say Never Again was on sale, and found that iTunes no longer offers the James Bond collection that includes all 26? movies anymore. It went on sale for $120 right around the time Amazon put all the Bond movies on Prime. What is the cheapest way to get all the bond movies in 4k on iTunes? We won't be seeing a set of physical discs anytime soon right? That would be like $800.
