Like all Bond films, these have something to like in them too (aka positives). However, in a relative comparison with other Bond films, they fall short of the mark.
Which one do you prefer the least, pick your "worst" poison: DAD (2002) - Brain numbing 2nd half. QoS (2008) - Infamous for its editing and copying elements/style from not only other Bond films (GF - girl in oil, TSWLM - Bond lets the tie go, etc.) but also Bourne films. SP (2015) - Comical anti-Fleming storyline where Bond and Blofeld are portrayed as brothers, yawn-inducing action sequences including the car chase, which is normally interesting in Bond films, headache-inducing score at times, a big budget film where $ could have been spent better, and so on. |

Die Another Day is basically a decent action intro followed by an aweful film, just a momument to every bad taste trend in blockbusters of that era.
Quantum really the editing isnt as Bourne like as I think people seem to remember, really only the opening car chase is along those lines. I think its main problem is it feels like its missing a bit of a middle act and perhaps that it copies Casino Royale a bit too much in style. Spectre I think ends up being less than the sum of its parts and not fully able to merge the more down to earth Bond of the Craig era with Blofeld but does also have some great scenes in it, the section in Morocco up until they meet Bloefeld is one of the best of the Craig era for me as is meeting Mr White. |
