The way I see it, the more support these kinds of releases get, the more of them we get.

I'll be checked in the looney bin right next to ya. Got a Kickstarter alert since I backed the previous project and already went for the 3-disc set. Came here to actually create a thread to garner support but looks like you beat me by quite a bit.

Default Crime Squad 3D - Indie 3D Blu-Ray on Kickstarter

Following the release of our collection of shorts and music videos last year (Enhanced Dimensions: COLLECT3D) - Deep Vision Studios are proud to announce the launch of our Kickstarter for the 3D Blu-ray of our rarely seen web series: "Crime Squad 3D".

Please visit our Kickstarter page for more info. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...uad-3d-blu-ray

As with previous release discs will be BDR and will be region free. There will be a very limited run just enough to cover the Kickstarter with a little rounding up so this will be the only opportunity to get this disc/set.

Thank you for looking.

Just did my small part for 3d. Although kickstarter did its best to put me off. The trouble I had with it. Error messages, crashes all sorts. Done now though. Should easily pass its goal. Thank you Mr Murchie.

Looks like it reached its goal with time to spare.
I see the trailer is side by side 3D. Will the blu ray 3D disc also be side by side 3D? Or frame packed blu ray 3D like most 3D blu rays? I ask as not all 3D displays are able to merge a side by side 3D movie if missing the option for side by side 3D on a 3D projector for example.

The Kickstarter specifies that "all content is in Digital 3D ONLY (Frame packed Blu-ray) unless otherwise stated".

Anaglyph versions are included for those without 3D equipment but the only mention of SBS is in reference to the original YouTube release and free digital download.

What I'm curious about is whether there will be a laugh-track free audio option...

Backed, and thank you for the email alert! I grabbed the 3-disc set plus the way OOP Enhanced Dimensions add-on!

Also, that SBS 3D trailer is AWESOME

First thank you to everyone who has backed this - ironically we've generated more interested in this than we did when we were trying to fund the production way back when.

In terms of the laugh track option - the original series disc will include the original (non laugh track) audio but part of the aim of the remastering was to try and get closer to how it was originally imagined and that was actually with a laugh track to support the parody plus the backstory of it being from the 1970's/80's.

What I am hoping will also add a little extra entertainment value is the "Caterer's Commentary" track where you can find out what people had for breakfast whilst filming, which of the cast may have helped themselves to an extra sandwich or two and how food is the not that secret ingredient to a penniless indie film shoot.

Nice going putting it all together with the 3D and the marketing. For the 3D, I was wondering what software you use to edit the 3D after its filmed, and then author it onto a blu ray disc for 3D. I heard Sony Vegas years ago, was one option, but in a search, it's tough to find many choices out there for 3D post conversion software. Years ago, there was a 3D editor that attached to Final Cut Pro that I used on my old computer, but that was way back in the 2010s.

Although the edit was done in adobe premiere, the final conversion for the 3d MVC export was done using Vegas Pro and disc authoring was done in DVD Architect. Both of the packages are not the most stable applications so it can be quite tricky. For some reason Architect also struggles with disc capacity - the theoretical 25gb appears irrelevant and it tends to give problems once it’s hits over 15gb. I’ve contacted support numerous times but nothing ever seems to get resolved. I assume the 3d support is simply historic and not something that helps to sell the product.

Cool, thanks for the details DVS3D. Nice work getting through some of the technical challenges despite the lack of software support.
Yeah, that can be frustrating with exporting to disc. It's a long process as the progress slowly trickles towards completion, only to reach the end and then get a "failed to author" message with some of the DVD or blu ray authoring programs. Good to hear you were able to get through it and successfully print it out.

I've never seen these but with all the money saved not buying Disney, Paramount, etc.. 3D blu-rays this is an easy buy.

We've exceeded the first stretch goal and are just setting up the additional rewards for the second stretch goal. Any help in spreading the word would be much appreciated.

Also if you've not checked out the Kickstarter videos they are pretty much all shared via YouTube in 3D - it's one way to get a daily fix of the extra dimension!

Thanks again for everyone's support with this.

It seems to be the final 24 hours of the Kickstarter - I'm looking forward to getting the triple disc through the post, it'll be like a 2nd Christmas!

And as I type the project is just £450 away from the final £5k stretch goal. Please consider backing if you haven't already and thus encourage more 3-D projects in the future.
