Isn’t it risky buying a Chinese brand TV considering Huawei is currently facing a ban from the U.S? After all, these are smart TVs. If the Chinese brands are banned, you are left with a discontinued brand.

Wow...I am in the market for a new 43" and was looking at Samsung and LG (my last one was a Vizio and I had a world of problems with it) but after reading this thread, I guess I should be looking a the TLC TVs as well ( although I already own a Roku....).

Check out the TCL 5 series (the only reason I didn't suggest the 6 series is because it starts at 55').

Having a slight problem with my TCL 55S405. It seems whenever I play my XB1X via HDMI 2 playing a game it supports HDR it will not switch out of HDR whenever I go back to the XB1X main menu or even when I switch over to my cable box which is on HDMI 1. The only thing that switches the TV back into non HDR mode is turning the TV off and than turning it back on. Its a easy fix but it is also very annoying to have to do. The TV just started doing this about a week ago. Any input would be great and thanks for any help or advice in advance.

Try to do a factory reset. That may eliminate the problem.

i had this problem months ago. another quick solution is to press the home button on the tv remote then select HDMI 2 (where your xbox is hooked up to).

but what really solved it for me was a factory reset on the tv.

Just purchased the 75R615 (Best Buy's version of the R617) for $1299.00.
An amazing set for the price...gives the big 3 a run for its money.

My p607 did the craziest thing yesterday.

Half the screen was upside down (and blurry) and completely backwards

I did a complete a/v reset, nothing happened. I then did a complete factory reset. Nothing happened?

I unplugged the tv over night and wouldn't you know it, everything works fine for now anyways.

I'm guessing my 2 year old tv is already dying?

Any techies out there that can help me understand how a tv/display can act so bizarre?

I recently placed an amazon.ca order for the 65" 6 series. My local Best Buy was sold out and even their distribution center was out of stock. Needless to say, I wasn't gonna wait for them to eventually get replacement stock.
It's going to replace my 65" LG 3D/4K (UB9800). Can't wait for it to arrive! Will finally be able to enjoy HDR/Dolby Vision content.

I recently bought...

TCL - 55" Class - LED - 5 Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR Roku TV

I noticed that the inside of the TCL screen there is a inner boarder along the entire screen. I thought I had to adjust the screen resolution but when I turned the TV off it just apart of the screen.

Anyone know why that is?

If the border wasn't there when you've first purchased the TV, then it shouldn't be on the screen now. If it was ghosting from watching widescreen movies, it should had disappeared by now. You should return it, if it's not too late.

Do you guys think I would be better off buying the 2018 model vs the 2019 6 series.

The 65” has an $80 difference between the 2. I think the same for the 55”
