I thought this was already out. What was that yellow box that came out a few years ago?

I would love them to do better cover art than the UK release for sure. I always loved the first Police Academy poster artwork. classic.

btw for anyone who owns the UK set do you recall if the films contain the original WB opening logos or did they update them to the more recent CGI logo ?

Definitely not the CGI logo. IIRC the latter sequels use the shield logo that would have been used in the late 80s. The first couple I think just have the Ladd Company logo with the tree.

Hahahahaha. I just ordered the UK Blu-ray set two days ago.

To everyone reading this... You're welcome.

It's all good. I've got no problems with the cover art of the UK set, and I'm not expecting any extensive restoration improvements for this U.S. release. The UK set only cost me $21 U.S. dollars, including shipping.

Funnily enough, I've never seen the first film of the series. My friends and I were in middle school when the second movie was released, though, so we all saw it at the theater, and then went to see the third and fourth films at the theater as well. Those will bring back some great memories, I'm sure.

I'd be curious if the transfers will be improved from the UK set. But if I remember right, it was only the last few movies that suffered the worst (yeah. the bad ones )--I'll probably be holding onto my UK set unless the US one gets buttloads of extras or something.

Thanks for this! I almost ordered it myself recently.

The first film is actually the best one. It's the traditional raunchy 80's comedy and not the more family friendly slapstick like the series would later become.

The first one is one of the worst. The series didn't take off 'til Jerry Paris of Dick Van Dyke fame took over.

I try not to think of these movies. It's depressing how many times I watched Citizens on Patrol as a kid. Not to mention Assignment: Miami Beach.

Some wounds never really heal.

WB is usually good to preserve original poster art. However I have a feeling it will be a 4 disc digi-pack.

Disc 1 - Police Academy
Disc 2 - PA 2 / PA 3
Disc 3 - PA 4 / PA 5
Disc 4 - PA 6 / PA 7

The first one stars Kim Cattrall, who was one of the most gorgeous 1980s women.

You're crazy. The first one was far and away the best. Being R-rated, it wasn't limited in the types of jokes they could make.

Yeah, those later films are objectively pretty lousy. But having grown up watching these films, there's a huge nostalgia factor at play. They would always be released in late March-early April which coincided with Easter Break and my birthday, so I'd always go and see them with my friends at the movie theatre in our local mall.

Absolutely. She had some great thighs, tan, very supple, well-rounded and luxuriant to the touch.

She was also great in Porky's!

I lost track how many times I watched those two in particular, especially Miami Beach. HBO was running most of the movies off and on earlier this year. I added at least 3-4 more viewings of Miami Beach then as well. It's a disease.

My biggest memory of Citizens on Patrol is probably when my brother's and I rented it from West Coast Video one night when my parents went out and our grandmother was watching us. I put the tape in the VCR because she didn't know how to use it and our VCR ate the tape. We were so disappointed.
