I just got this off Amazon yesterday, and its very impressive. James O'Barr added new pages to the story, expanding the tale to become his own admitted "original intention" from way back in 1981. The "special edition" was first published in 2011, and this hardcover version is simply beautiful. I'd easily recommend it to any fans of The Crow in particular, or independent comics in general.

I finished reading this a couple of days ago, and I really enjoyed most of it. The story is much simpler than what was shown in the first film, but the intensity is still very prevalent on each page. Eric as a character spends almost as much time speaking in lyrics as he does shooting and/or cutting down the villains, but the violence depicted rarely feels like overkill, at least in my opinion.
