Default Classic Serbian movies

There are few titles for the time being and all have been released by Jugoslovenska Kinoteka Belgrade but I hope it will be more in a near future:
Балкански ратови Ђоке Богдановића I (Balkan Wars of Dyoka Bogdanovich Vol. 1)
Балкански ратови Ђоке Богдановића II (Balkan Wars of Dyoka Bogdanovich Vol. 2)
Балкански ратови Ђоке Богдановића III (Balkan Wars of Dyoka Bogdanovich Vol. 3)
Са вером у Бога (In Good We Trust) (1932)
Београд између два светска рата (Belgrade Between the Two World Wars) (1919, 1932)
Карађорђе или живот и дела бесмртог Вожда карађорђа (The Life and Deeds of the Immortal Vožd Karađorđe) (1911) - limited combo edition (OOP and I haven't it yet)

Another piece of news:
"Ten cult movies that marked Serbian and regional cinematography will be digitally restored and ready to be screened in top picture and sound quality in theaters, said on a joint press conference of the Yugoslav Film Archive and Vip mobile on the occasion of the presentation of the 'Vip Kinoteka' project."
http://www.kinoteka.org.rs/vip-kinot...lmske-bastine/
The first restored movie in this project is Who's Singin' Over There? (Ко то тамо пева) (Ko to tamo peva)(1980). The chief of Kinoteka's Center for digitization and restoration told me that every restored movie will be released on Blu-ray disc.

I'm actually very interested by this first title. From what I've heard, it's a classic road movie, black comedy with bus passengers just before the war.
Do you happen to know if these will be factory-pressed?
You can't be too careful

@DukeOfPrunes
Not at all.
The chief is a nice person when one speaks with him on phone but he is rarely answering on my e-mails. I was surprised when he sent me a very technical replay on my question about 1080i 25fps picture, 5.1 sound and bitrate on the future discs. Here is his reasoning about 1080i50:
"As technology and requirements progressed (DVD, BluRay, DCP, VOD etc ...) at one point we decided to work with two speeds (and even for the short time had worked), but then this emerged as a complication and a great job (25 for DVD, VOD, etc .. 24 for BR etc ...) which has led to some errors in deliveries, and the masters were duplicated in space.
After several tests, and by adopting the SMPTE standard for DCP, all the materials went to 25p so that it became standard again.
It is true that in the RedBook for BR 25 fps it can only be performed as 50i, but as I have described earlier since 50i is two half frames of the same 25p frame, there is no effect on the perception of the image."

If Vip Mobile doesn't subsidize the pressing then it will be BD-R.

*sigh* I'm not really comfortable with buying BD-Rs.
Hopefully, all these efforts will lead to established labels like Second Run.
Thanks again!

Thumbs up

A classic Serbian TV horror Leptirica directed by Đorđe Kadijević will be released in July in limited dual format edition by Ostalgica.

Thanks so much, djvaso, for sharing this information! I've added the Amazon.de ASIN and the cover. Let's hope for a good restoration!

Dr. Dejan Ognjanović has some doubts about legitimacy of this release. I don't think so because there is only one source for HD master and it is Serbian Broadcasting Company (Radio Televizija Srbije - RTS). I have asked around about two German dubbings and they are brand ones according to Oliver Nöding:
Quote:
As far as I know, LEPTIRICA has never been shown on German television, neither in West nor East Germany. I'm not 100 % sure, but I think the two German soundtracks are completely new and have been recorded especially for the new Blu-ray edition. One track is labeled as a "retro version", so my guess is they made one version that sounds "older", whatever that means. Germans are used to dubbing, so most of them expect German sound on their DVDs or BRs as well. Discs that only feature the original sound and no German soundtrack won't sell, so many labels will record new German soundtracks to make their product more attractive for potential customers. Fulci's SETTE NOTE IN NERO is another film that was never officially released in Germany which got a newly recorded German soundtrack for its Blu-ray release.

Here is the page of one of the German voice actors involved in the recording of the soundtrack of LEPTIRICA.
http://denis-ruehle.com/Ref.html
As you can see, he is far too young to have done it when the film originally came out."

According to reliable source which insists on anonymity, there is a kind of legal issue with these releases and they are postponed.
Nema na čemu.

The only place where one can bought them is a shop in the new Kinoteka building in Uzun Mirkova street in Belgrade.

I hope that Kinoteka will commemorate the centenary of the Armistice in the Great War with the Blu-ray release of Stanislav Krakov movie The Calvary of Serbia (Golgota Srbije - Požar na Balkanu).

You mentioned earlier a shop at the Kinoteka building in Belgrade, do you maybe know the opening hours of this shop? And is there a Website where I can see what they are selling? Asking because my parents-in-law will be in Belgrade next week.

Probably in September, I don't have information about subtitles etc.

It is not a real shop more a depot so no opening hour and no website. They are selling Kinoteka's releases on DVD and Blu-ray and magazine "Kinoteka" in Serbian. They can be pain only in cash and there is no receipt. One have to enter in the building and ask for the "shop assistant". The problem is the main entrance in the passage is mainly closed so ring on the intercom at the entrance in the street.

Titlovi nisu potrebni.

Haha, sounds like a pain in the ass. Do you know if the 3 Releases of "Balkanski ratovi" are still available.

It is really a shame, we´ve got so many good movies, yet there is little to no effort in bringing them in any kind of updated and available physical format.
