You have to be careful when importing into VUDU or Fandango now in the US.
Not all of my UV library has ported over as they aren't supported on these platforms. I've got a US copy of the hateful 8. It's in UV. But it will not port to VUDU My UV library is made up of UK, US, french and German codes. Most have ported to VUDU. About 8 haven't |

Yeah, for all the talk about streaming killing discs they sure are doing their best to complicate that side of things in the UK. Stuff like Netflix and "boxset bingeing" is going great guns of course, but the whole other avenue of movie ownership in the digital world has been very undercooked. There's still iTunes and whatnot but they don't have everything, and while the US has several vendors who can do 4K like VUDU and Fandango and MA, we're much worse off. I don't know if that says more about us as a peoples though, I think the usual British technophobia has kicked in good and proper when it comes to 4K.

AHH that's the issue. I'm UK based. And all my codes with a few exceptions are from UK bd's. It's the odd release that's not porting Quote:
US SIDE iTunes Google play 2 VUDU 2 MA 1 Fandango. Amazon.com uses my UK email address. Microsoft uses my UK account (also ports into the movies and TV app in Windows 10) Disney account that got closed Sony pictures (now gone) UK Side Google play Skystore Rakuten TV (old talk talk/Tesco account) iTunes Flixster Sony pictures (now gone) Then there was the UV account. This linked into talk talk and flixster. Then just flixster, which limited how I could watch my movies. When MA launched I fudged it, so I used my UK Google account, so nearly every is now in that. It should not be this hard to get a "free" movie or a paid for movie. Then the big studios complain about people downloading illegally. You know why people download illegally? Cos it's easier than finding a retailer that will play on all of your devices let alone one of them.... Also no sodding advertising, I've paid good money for a blu ray or digital content (I'm looking at sky here) so I don't have adverts before something i want to watch. |

My dreams for digital streaming will be like all you can eat movies. They already do it for music with apple. You pay X amount/month and you can stream all the music you want. It’s will be nice if they do the same thing with movies. |

Yes Sky Q. Now TV is 4K now though also. They are offering a new set top box/streaming box. Apparently, depending on the quality of your tv, it upscales 1080p quite well also. You will need fibre for that option though, obviously.

That info comes from https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/sky/now-tv-smart-box "The big catch to the Now TV Smart box is the same as with previous models and that is that Sky-based content, via the Sky Sports, Cinema and Entertainment passes, is still limited in resolution to 720p. " |

I've been using fraps (licence version) to record all my ultraviolet collection and then encode each movie in handbrake. A bit of a hassle as you need a big hard drive for the files but handbrake reduces the sizes considerably. I'm sure there's an easier way to do it but at least it saves my collection, if and when Flixter shuts down. Another bonus is I can now play them on my Plex server and stream to my TV which I couldn't do before.
