Watched MALIGNANT via HBO Max at home with my daughter. It was a decent horror movie a la anything I would see on SHUDDER - nothing more, nothing less.

My daughter liked it a little more than I did but neither of us would rank it as the "cult classic" that some in it's official thread have elevated it to.

The home presentation cannot be faulted. Although only presented in 5.1, DSU extracted a healthy 3D soundfield in my 7.4.4 setup with plenty of low end to activate the tactile transducers in my front row chairs.

Sitting 10' from a 120" screen, the 4k HDR Image was gorgeous with impressive shadow detail.

Did the party notice the tvOS got updated? It is normally set to install updates automatically.

The pairing of Xcode to ATV was always something that you had to play with to get it to work, any update might erase the developer mode pairing.

All updates were done prior to installing Developer on the ATV.

The first two pairings did not install Developer on the ATV, the third one did. In each case I would delete the pairing and start the process again.

Distribution Solutions in Physical Media Partnership With Vertical

Quote:
Distribution Solutions, a division of Alliance Entertainment, has entered into a physical media partnership with domestic distributor Vertical Entertainment.

Distribution Solutions will handle trade marketing, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, VMI systems and management, returns processing, credit and collections, and reporting of Vertical physical sellthrough releases in the United States and Canada, and will work hand-in-hand with Vertical partner Mitch Budin, according to Distribution Solutions.

“Partnering with Vertical Entertainment is very exciting for us,” said Distribution Solutions president Ben Means in a statement. “They bring an impressive catalog of over 300 films that we look forward to putting on shelves to maximize the success of their physical releases.”

Notable films from Vertical include Out of Death (starring Bruce Willis) available on DVD and Blu-ray Sept. 14 under the agreement, Joe Bell (starring Mark Wahlberg), Four Good Days (starring Glenn Close and Mila Kunis), Capone (starring Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, and Matt Dillon) and Ava (starring Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell).

“We are incredibly pleased to be collaborating with Distribution Solutions on our future projects,” said Budin in a statement. “Ben and the DS team have built a first-class organization and we look forward to working with them to further our footprint in the marketplace.”

Meanwhile, the Disney Movie Club has revealed a trio of great Disney live-action catalog titles that they’re bringing to Blu-ray: The Watcher in the Woods (includes a never-before-seen alternate opening), Flight of the Navigator, and Something Wicked This Way Comes. These should be shipping soon from DMC if they aren’t already. Thanks to Bits reader Aaron J. for the heads-up!

In other news today, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has informed us that they’re revising the street dates for a few of their biggest 4K releases in the 4th quarter due to unexpected “supply chain delays.” So the Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection: Volume 2 box is now set for release on 10/12 (delayed from 9/14). The Underworld: Limited Edition 5-Movie Collection now streets on 10/26 (delayed from 10/5). And The Guns of Navarone now streets on 11/12 (delayed from 10/12). Adjust your plans accordingly.

Looks fun. I love Hailey Steinfeld and think Dickinson is one of the best shows on ATV+.

Seems like they're using levity and going the Thor:Ragnarok route (bringing some levity to it) with regards to Hawkeye. Hawkeye has always been a bore and this show doesn't look boring at all.

I sure this ads some origin aspects to Hawkeye, as WandaVision did for Wanda, and the Falcon & WinterSolder history. There has always been lots of aspects of Marvel films where characters didn't get much of a introduction just part of the action. Like they added a bit of the romance between Hawkeye and Black Widow in her recent film when trying to take down Iron Man.

The animated What iF Marvel series is interesting for people that haven't watched some of the episodes on Disney Plus.

I have not watched What If. I'm gonna wait until they're all available, so that I can binge it.

Good to see The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard on that list. An instant classic for sure. I'm still holding out hope they bring the extended cut 3D version to home disc. It really adds to the film experience.

Just checking in to let everyone know that I am still here.

As if I have not had enough fun this summer already, I am recovering from two rounds of oral surgery; the most recent one was yesterday. I am pretty loopy on pain meds at the moment, so don't expect much sense from me.
