well if you bought these Paramount movies on itunes when they were HD it won't matter about code redemptions there since you get the free 4k upgrade from itunes

Some more bad news about Paramount and iTunes: I received my copy of Red Eye 4K yesterday and just tried to redeem my digital code on ParamountMovies.com. Unfortunately, Vudu is the only redemption option. No mention of iTunes/Apple TV anywhere. I guess it’s possible that iTunes could be added as an option on release day, but I doubt it.

I can confirm that Apple is indeed an option for the Babylon code redemption.

It does have the Apple TV logo on the back, so I figured as much. Deep Impact 4K doesn't, so I canceled my order until I know for certain. I hope this isn't a new trend because I loved Paramount for their direct iTunes redemptions and free 4K upgrades.

People need to understand that many Paramount catalog titles, like Red Eye, were not originally produced by Paramount. So it doesn’t always have complete control over where a code redeems. The same applies to Lionsgate, which is why it varies on whether their codes have iTunes.
If this was a trend for Paramount, why do newer movies like Babylon that are mainline Paramount releases still have iTunes redemptions? Even the HD codes for Babylon redeem and get the free 4K upgrade on iTunes. It’s not a trend for all Paramount movies. |

I don't know where to put this or if it is already being discussed somewhere else but the Google Spreadsheet for where to redeem 4K seems to be wiped out - at least for me - due to TOS violation?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...mh4/edit#gid=0 It was working fine earlier today. |

Anyone know why Vudu hasn't updated the redeem page in over a year? Is it because they feel no movie can top Dune? ![]() ![]() |

Previous DreamWorks films released by Paramount had iTunes redemptions. "Gladiator", "Almost Famous", "War Of The Worlds" (2005), and the first two Transformers films. For some reason, "Red Eye" didn't get one. It's possible that the "Scream" trilogy would be so popular a title that they would give give it Apple TV redemptions anyway, whereas "Red Eye" isn't a franchise title. I don't know. I think we're all in a wait and see kind of mode right now. Hopefully we'll have figured out more by this Summer. |

Thats true. Also "Scream" trilogy is pretty recent. So it would be very odd if Scream 3 didn't if it is released soon. Now lets not forget how Paramount feels about digital. They can't even spell it sometimes. ![]() |

So if I have a code for Nobody (Universal) and try to redeem it in the redeem page for Drive (Sony), Vudu will redeem for Nobody (on the Drive redeem page). In fact I accidentally redeemed the wrong code on the wrong page a few months ago, I was trying to redeem one movie (that redeem page was up), but accidentally redeemed for another (surprise, I got a movie I did not want). |
