Luke had come to believe that the Jedi have failed the galaxy and that sequestering himself as he did, was the only way forward.

“In this way he’s able to finally do the thing he couldn’t do in Empire, which is cut off the emotional, isolate himself into what he’s convinced himself is the right thing,” said Johnson.
Now I hate the film even more.

Why do people complain about wanting more information included in The Last Jedi when it's obvious by their comments they aren't even picking up on everything that is already there?

But is it there? Or is that just your interpretation of the film? You see, there's an awful lot of people who didn't like The Last Jedi and they're not morons; they're astute enough to pick up on subtext and all that mother jazz. Maybe you should look at the film from their perspective in order to understand where they're coming from.

"Asked". It's not pronounced as "Axed" or "Aksed". It's pronounced as "Asked". Such intolerable idiocy.

So I guess that whole 'pretending it doesn't even exist' thing is still a work in progress.

It's not as if any of this "information" is some hidden gem that's going to help anyone to love the movie. If anything, it's the exact opposite.

The meal analogy reminds me of "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and the Indiana Jones Franchise.

I had already been served 3 great to fantastic meals by master chefs Spielberg and Lucas. Certainly a fourth meal would be equally as exquisite.....right?!

You could even say the same right before the Phantom Menace came out. How could it possibly go wrong?

Truth is JJs job is going to be much more difficult from Rians. Rian got to go in and blow up and throw out everything JJ set up. Now JJ has to pick up the pieces and make sense of it. Good luck. I sincerely hope he pulls it off.

I guess that's up to you how you rate it.
