the cld-79 is fine except for the one disc but he already has a cld-79 I bought that had to many problems with which I'm trading for an LDS2 from him. He's a nice guy. I'm also sending the LD-V2000 for one he has that is working. Also sending him the Lexicon LDD-1 to mod for the toslink optical cable output which it doesn't have.

So, you're going to take a dive into an LD-S2... Well, once you go there, you won't go back to any other player (except for maybe the HLD-X0).

hopefully just this one. I don't want to go Muse but I might though that would be long way off.

LD-S2 I have to manually flip and doesn't do it automatically?

I need to stop getting players and extra electronics I'm not using immdadiatly or much since it takes up space.

The LD-S2 is a one-sided player, yes.

These just came in

Demons 1-3 and Before Sunrise.

Demons goes without saying, and I'm happy the first two are the Roan editions. And I'm in love with Julie Delpy so to get the first part of her romance trilogy, Japanese release no less, is very cool.

Demons and Demons 2 on Laserdisc!

Sweet dude. I have always wanted to pick these up. Especially since they are the Roan editions. I still have the old crappy Image/New World Video edition of Demons.
Nice find.

I got about 100 or so.
I do notice the player make some spinning noise during playback (sounds kinda like a small fan), is this normal?

The CLD-D5*, CLD-D6*, and CLD-D7* players all make the noise you describe during playback.

I assume that he meant movies on LD directed by Quentin Tarantino.

well, the player I got a few weeks ago does have a small prob, it produces a shaky picture when I play side B using the side B button (looks like a VCR presentation w/ tracking probs).
I'm figuring its prob with the reverse playback laser.
Cause if I physically flip the disc and play side B using the side A button, it plays fine.

I believe there is only one laser (which flips inside the unit with the side change). But there can be tracking issues with the laser on one side only. You may want to look for a new player on craigslist or ebay as they are very cheap (cheaper to buy a new one than to repair [except for higher end units]).

Bayview Electronics does repairs, his name is Duncan, very nice guy. http://www.laserdiscservice.com/

Let us know how it goes.

as long as I flip the disc for each side it plays fine, that'll be okay til I find a better player.

What do you guys think about the LD-S1 player? There is a Craigslist seller in my town asking $390 complete with remote. I would love to finally own a top of the line player but if the picture quality is not as good, or better, than my CLD-D704 then I don't think I am going to buy it. It sure does look beautiful with the rose wood panels.
