Default PS4 Acting Weird.

I usually watch my movies on my PS4 and I noticed while watching Scream Factory's The Bodysnatcher that it started doing a weird skip/drag thing where it was basically dragging slowly and then skipping ahead. I assumed my PS4 Blu-ray lens was either going bad or it was an update issue.

Well, now it seems to play some companies disc fine and do that drag thing on others. Like, it plays the new Arrow stuff this month fine. Played Troma's new movie fine, but then dragged like that on all the new Scream Factory and Mill Creek stuff.

Anyone having this issue or have a clue what might be going on?

All you can do is try the discs on another player to ascertain whether its them or the PS4.

Playstation 4 were always known to have many problems playing blu-rays. Actually PS3 &4 are primarily game consoles, not primary Blu-ray players. If you watch a lot of blu-rays, I suggest that you get a designated Blu-ray player, and start using your PS4 for gaming. Besides, it would save a lot of wear and tear on your drive.

About three years. I've watched a lot of Blu-rays on it. Meanwhile, DVDs are still playing good.

They use different lasers, so their wear and tear is independent.

My PS3 is much more reliable than the Sony UBP-X800 and it still plays BD's without issue today.

I replaced the disc drive on my PS4 because Blu-ray playback had become sketchy - looked like just one laser to me, unless they're both contained in the same tiny part?

Anyway, it's worked a treat so far - touch wood - and if you require instructions @Chuckwood I can point you to the videos I used.
