My Leo Bonder input lag tester is not working properly, but I've been told and some specs have been released include several very nice improvements for all gaming, consoles and PC gaming. I think you will want the CX.

This afternoon I'm giving our professional calibrator one of our CX's so he can take all of the measurements and compare it against the C9 and A9G.

@Darkmninya, we received the first CX series and after I broke in a 55CX's I gave it to our calibrator so he can test and compare LG 2020 OLED against other OLED TVs and take all of the video performance measurements.

We'll be posting the following information:

- Peak luminance

- % of DCI/P3 and BT.2020 color gamut

- Screen uniformity especially at 5% luminance full field

- How does low resolution up-conversion performance compared to the A89G and C9.

- How does the selectable BFI work and how do the 5 settings effect the motion resolution performance

- And much more!

Thanks for the update Robert. Looking forwards to the results and hopefully Input Lag comparison. One thing that i know is a bit niche but apparently this feature was dropped for 2019 and maybe is possible with 2020 models.

BFI with game mode and the input lag of that combination if you can check would be amazing and really useful to know.

Thanks for keeping us informed

For those interested in putting LG's 55", 65" or 77" GX series on a table top the stand you will need to buy the pedestal stand kit that consists of two feet and the back cover.

Here's the .pdf spec sheet on the AN-GXDV optional stand kit.

Stupid question and probably been answered. Why is the 55" listed as 54.6" diagonal and slightly lower for pretty much all in brackets? Is it because no LGs actually match their 55" moniker diagonally at all?

I assume it's how they build the large OLED modules and cut them to the needed sizes. This slight actual smaller panel size is true for all manufacturers and many LCD TVs as well.

The new BFI mode sounds really interesting to me, as 24p judder on my LG LED is my absolute bane!

I'm not sure how judder performs on other manufacturers sets, but anything to help eliminate it is welcome!

2020 65 in CX model or 2019 65 inch E9 model? 2 sets I’m deciding on. Wanted a 77 incher but after measuring everything it would be too big for where I want to put it. Sucks but it is what it is. Thanks for any advice on the choices above.

I recommend the CX or GX 2020 OLEDTVs. You would get the benefits of LG's latest flagship a9 Gen 3 processor with improved up-conversion of cable content and better motion resolution as well as all of the new webOS 5.0 upgrades.

Seeing discussions on other boards it's pretty tight between C9 and CX if you don't game that is. BFI works soso, DV is a little messed up and might be needing fw update and so on. Flatpanelshd wasn't impressed either. Hoping for hdtvtest to get CX vs panasonic hz1000 some day to see how well DV IQ works.

Not ^^ my experience or that of our calibrator that I gave a CX for his evaluation.

Motion resolution is improved as is up-conversion of low resolution content, like cable. The new selectable BFI works very well and is an excellent upgrade, but when engaged it does effect the EOTF PQ curve. However, although we can see the CX is coming out of black faster than the PQ curve is designed it's not easy to see any issue with content.

Dolby Vision Dark is not accurate and does render the image darker then it should be, but calibration fixes that and LG and Dolby Vision are aware and working on a fix. Also Dolby Vision bright is working perfectly.

Gaming is another big upgrade for LG's 2020 OLED line-up as is the excellent new webOS version 5.0 that is completely redesigned with a ton of new and very cool features.
