That's really interesting, I had no idea it was a known issue.
I do remember hearing about the ADV sets using an inferior audio source though, I'd be interested in finding out why that happened.

I don't think I was ever going to sell off my AnimEigo set (retire, in my mind, just means not playing the discs anymore), but I definitely wanna look into backing up the discs. It's still got a lot of historical value, even if we end up getting the Japanese bluray masters down the road.
