I've been buying older CDs ever since Google Play died. Do you go to thrift shops or pawn shops often? CDs are usually 50 cents at those places.

Also, nobody buys CDs anymore, sadly.
Better tell the studios to stop selling CDs then, they might not know?

I'd buy the most deluxe edition available of The Mandalorian soundtrack on CD if they'd release it.

They kind of already are? I've definitely seen in a few threads people complaining that the soundtrack won't be on CD.

Some of my current favourite artists are releasing their albums vinyl only. It sucks.

I don't think I have either, not in a long time. Walmart and Target both have vinyl records around here now.

Best Buy still have a few. They take up roughly the same amount of floor space as the candies by the register.

Target carries like, 25 titles tops. BTS, Blackpink, and Taylor Swift are always big sellers for them. Last CD I bought there was Olivia Rodrigo.

Walmart has a tiny section now. Remember when they'd have bargain CD bins? I still have CDs that are unopened from those.

I'm surprised the DVDs for it didn't end up at Dollar Tree yet
The box office was about $1 million dollars on a $20 million budget. So i don't think so.

buy the dvd on amazon.

E-Commerce represents about 13.5% of all retail sales in the US. It spiked at about 16% last year.

Online sales fall back as UK shoppers head back in-store

23 Jul 2021

Quote:
UK shoppers spent less online in June as shoppers continued to head back in-store following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions on non-essential retail, the latest official figures suggest. The ONS Retail Sales report for June 2021 estimates that both the proportion and the value of retail sales fell – with 26.7% of retail sales online in June. That’s down from 28.4% in May 2021. At the same time, the value of ecommerce sales fell compared to both last month and last year.

Think of any good idea that'll help business, and AMC will do the opposite.

The merch idea is a really good one in concept, but as someone said here, staffing is an issue. We would very commonly only have one person at concessions and one person watching podium during many hours of the day. More staffing came during busy hours, of course, but we had an allotted amount of staff hours per day, and going over meant getting your ass chewed out by your district manager. They'll very commonly undershoot box office preditcions just so they can keep their staff hours down. Next time you go to an AMC theater when it's busy and you see 2 people at concessions, that's why. The merch would most likely be displayed in those glass cases at the concession counter that they usually keep candy in, but where would we keep back stock? We had a couple of small closets to keep all of our stock in, and we would have to stack boxes of stuff in the projector room. Adding more stock to that would be a nightmare. Bigger theaters probably won't have that issue though.

My thing about this is I don't think the regular movie going audience will care about any of that stuff. WE do, but we make up a small portion of the general movie going audience. It wouldn't add too much to their profit margins. Also, with the amount of stuff people leave behind, our lost and found would be full of movie merch stock. We had people leave coats, hats and gloves in the winter when it's 30 below zero. How do you get to your car without noticing?

I think the only thing that'll drive people back to the theaters is lowering their prices, which won't happen. When I worked at AMC, I had so many people walking in from the mall to buy a ticket for a movie, or popcorn to snack on while mall walking, only to scoff at the price and walk out. But again, that won't happen in a million years.

I am expecting prices to go up. Someone has to pay for all those new locations.
