Let me restate what I mean, I should not have to buy the entire series again to get the new OVA. They're holding it hostage to fans who just want the OVA.

And if they were going to make a box set, they should have included the two theatrical films with it because the box set is still not actually complete without those.

And with Funiroll, there's a good chance this will never be available outside this set.

Or they might not be allowed to regardless of what company they are. A reminder...

Licensing restrictions like this are nothing new. Remember when the Beyond the Boundary Episode 0 OVA was exclusive to the Limited Edition release? TBS eventually let Sentai release it outside of an LE in the SteelBook and later the upcoming re-release, but who knows if the Yu Yu Hakusho OVAs would be allowed to be re-released separately or in a less expensive re-release if it happens.

Looks quite nice, but there's yet another instance of repeating the same disc art as the cover multiple times. The Dragon Ball Super SteelBook set has the same problem.

And to think that they kept the steelbook extra discs because one of them was specifically about those sets and the newly-commissioned artwork used for them.

It's too bad because I'm sure there was additional artwork that they could have gone with. The box art from the 25th anniversary sets would've worked. If nothing else it would've been nice to see that art included in a booklet.

Wonder why the OVA Disc says Disc 01 on it. I mean it makes sense for the Seasons but not the OVA if there isn’t a 2nd Disc for the OVAs.

Should've put Botan and the girls on the last disc case

I guess the good thing about these not being steelbooks is I can switch cases and put my DVDs of the movies & Eizou Hakusho together with the new OVAs.

Do you think they included the Japanese Video Angle for the 30th Anniversary release from Crunchyroll/Funimation?

This question should go to someone who bought the Dragon Ball Super steelbook box since we know those used new discs (replaced video logo, missing trailers) and it would give an idea.

If it's English-only like before though, I wonder if it's the same for the OVA disc because that's new and the last time FUNi handled something new for this series, they half-assed it by not translating everything that was included.

The Dragon Ball Super steelbook discs have English text only. The discs are 1:1 with the old discs aside from the replaced startup warnings/logo and removed trailers. The menus are identical to the old 13 episode sets.

Something that's a bit odd, why is Kuwabara now on season 2 and Hiei on season 3? [Edit] I forgot, the SteelBooks is when they first changed it. I love inconsistency...

Didn't mention it earlier here, but seeing the Crunchyroll logo on this feels just so wrong. I get the rebranding because Sony, but Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the first things you think of when hear FUNimation, they've had that show for decades. The same goes with Dragon Ball, the Crunchyroll logo feels wrong there too, especially given the reason FUNimation was founded in the first place was to localize Dragon Ball.

Are the end of disc credits the same (will have its own chapter at the end, 10 seconds long), or did they change that too (possibly even the staff) where the Blu-ray authoring is credited to Crunchyroll, LLC instead of Funimation Global Group?

Just checked. It looks very consistent with the rest of the disc, but Blu-ray authoring is credited to Crunchyroll, LLC. If you want to know the staff credited, let me know.

FUNimation is still credited on the show's actual credits and bonus features.

Sadly it looks like it’s in licensing hell.
