^^ Quite the lavish home theater. Have saw others with other themes, one was unusual in that is was based on The Black Perl.

BTW, that photo has been flipped horizontally, JEDI is backwards.

If anyone is inclined to add fiber optic stars to their home theater you can start here. Purchased our home theater seating (Palliser) from HT Market 11 years ago.

While I absolutely love done up home theaters like this, and can totally appreciate the STAR WARS theme, I actually prefer a completely well masked and "blacked out" presentation in my HT. My cave is ugly as sin with the lights up...but when they go down - pure movie magic

Just watched Species on 4K disc (a GameFly rental) and I thought the video in 4K DV is the best the film has ever looked. It's so good now that you can see how crappy the underground scene in the final act is. It's still a trashy fun film and it was Natasha Henstridge in her prime and first role ever.

I went to my video shop and rented Everything Everywhere All At Once and Out of Sight on 4K disc.

This week is Bullet Train in cinemas and my long awaited Prey on Hulu (it will most likely be in 4K HDR / 5.1). I also heard that all of the Game of Thrones seasons on HBO MAX are now in 4K DV / Atmos and that the prequel series will also be in 4K DVD / Atmos.

Finally, my Second Sight 4K boxed set of The Witch just arrived this morning from DiabolikDVD and it is gorgeous!

Mine arrived from DiabolikDVD today as well. Agree, the set is top notch. Second Sight never disappoints.

Nope. It's the same lossless DTS track from the BD.

Yeah, same. I've had a black bed sheet behind my TV for the last couple of months and am waiting for another bed sheet so that I can cover up the rest of that wall. I also have masks to black out the larger grayish black bars on my limited TV. My TV has a bias light taped to the back, but I never even use it anymore, as I find the whole idea anti-cinematic.

I purchased our Velours from Dazian (here) 11 years ago. It is a heavy and pretty dark fabric. It was quite a few yards and came on a big spindle (roll), do not remember the fire rating. I do not see our fabric on their site now.

Disney+ Releases Official ‘Andor’ Trailer for New Star Wars Series - Hollywood Reporter 7/1

The series is billed as “a new perspective from the  Star Wars  galaxy,” that focuses on “Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make.

Quote:
The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”

In a welcome scenic change from the company’s previous Star Wars shows, Andor seems to have largely ditched desert planet environments in favor of a variety of urban and rural locals.

Disney+ also announced the 12-episode series will launch with a three-episode premiere on a new date: Sept. 21.

Initial reports suggested the decision was driven entirely by a desire for the studio’s slate of DC features to be at a blockbuster scale and “Batgirl” was budgeted as a direct-to-HBO Max release. However a quick follow-up report in Variety has several sources suggesting a more basic reason to the outlet – a tax write-off.
Kinda sad isn't it. Anything that is a direct-to-HBO Max release, is more or less a tax write off.

Anyone with a brain knew the straight to streaming film strategy was doomed.

Long live the cinema!

I'll be a able to confirm that I indeed have a brain next week when my doc books me in for a CAT scan, but I don't think for a minute that straight to streaming is doomed as a viable strategy...

Really stoked to see PREY tomorrow night!
