It's probably gonna take two days, but I should have enough storage now to move all my movies, TV shows, concerts and music videos off the NAS, undo RAID 5, set it up as no RAID and move it all back. Sick of being worried about data corrupting from being striped across multiple drives, and at least I'll have vastly more storage with another hard drive available. Edit: Actually, I think I'll come about 2 TB short, but I don't mind backing up again such a small amount.

Of course.

In my case I like to learn and investigate things and it takes me a while to decide what works best. And, I will try various ideas again from time to time. I don't mind some experimentation. It's just another fun part of the home theater hobby.

Edit - I was loving the Zidoo until I tried to use it for music and then found bugs. I may spend more time with it. I think it's on a beta and I think I already tried to down grade it to non beta. Can't really complain about bugs in the beta.

Recently updated mine to the latest beta but have not used since the up date. For my own music library I continue to use the Oppo and its app for access. The Oppo app on Android below. Do use BubbleUPnP some with the Oppo as the renderer.

Another nice thing about physical media is that I do not have to care about what comes and goes from any streaming service. Once on the shelf, always on the shelf.

I have also read that their track record with 4K discs is spotty at best.

Severin is being heavily criticized in the Changeling 4K thread with many hoping the same thing that you are: that someone else, anyone else, releases this movie on 4K.

Thankfully, I own this blu-ray from Second Sight:

I will take a very cautious "wait and see" approach with Severin's 4K release.

I don't know if you call that a Win, having to run to your Player to flip the Disc several times. The Director's Cut at 3 1/2 hours of the Original Das Boot tells a good story with no Disc Flipping...Score a Win for Streaming!

Wrong again, but you get an "A" for consistently being so.

The TV version is on two discs and practically everyone pauses for a break when watching something that is 5 hours long. On the way back from the kitchen/bathroom, simply swap the discs a SINGLE time. Or, use more than one blu-ray player and merely press a button to change inputs. Or rip the two discs to a home media server. EZ several which a ways.

Being able to see the this extraordinary cut of Das Boot far outweighs any noise coming from you about "convenience." The fact remains that you can not see this version on streaming. You lose out entirely here. Physical media makes seeing this rare expanded TV cut possible and I'll gladly take that every time over any imaginary convenience you ascribe to streaming.

I sincerely believe that disc flipping was a major contributing factor to the dissolution of my first marriage...
One of the last things we did together was to watch Kevin Costner's THE POSTMAN. Weighing in at what seems to be approximately 9 hours long, this crapfest must have been spread over 25 Laser discs - each requiring that the viewer be a participant in their own torture every 45 minutes when they were forced to get up and flip or change the disc....

It remains the most horrific movie related experience of my life and gets my vote for worst movie ever made....

Flash forward 25 years - On a happier note, Baz Luhrman's ELVIS has recently supplanted STAND BY ME as my favourite film of all time. Bring on the UHD!!!

I own it on DVD. It is such a beyond boring film that it feels like an eternity to endure and being sentenced to purgatory. Watching it will make you for the sweet release of death.
