As my seperate thread was closed for some reason, thought I'd ask here but has anyone noticed a shortage of new releases of blurays this week, no copies of Geostorm, Snowman, Lego Ninjago or My Little Pony on bluray in 3 local Tescos and local Asda.

I know it's not the same as not getting a release at all but has anyone else noticed a possible distribution issue in other parts of the country this week?

I am on the south coast in Sussex.

Plenty of copies of all 4 in Brighton HMV yesterday.

Ditto, I picked up Geostorm 3D and Happy Death Day on Monday in HMV Birmingham. They had all of the new releases mentioned above.

ASDA`s always terrible in Brighton for new Blu Ray releases.

Not new releases of course but whilst clearing out my DVD collection recently I came across Evolution and Pink Floyd's The Wall, was surprised to find that neither have a Blu-Ray release.

Evolution was one of the first DVDs I bought not long after getting my PS2 (i.e first DVD player) many years ago, so while it's not a fantastic film it does have some nostalgia for me and I'm just a huge Pink Floyd fan and think The Wall would look great on Blu due to the visuals.

Yeah I also kept both of those DVDs Didn't want to get rid of them seeing as they're not on Blu.

Ah did notice there was a digital HD of Evolution but have never checked it out, I did re-watch the DVD after finding it though and it seemed weird after being so used to HD quality

I'll probably keep The Wall DVD even if it ever gets a BD release as well simply because the case is a quite nice cardboard one which simply has the white brick design on it and it has a clear plastic slipcover that has "The Wall" title on it, looks quite nice.

I still find it astonishing that we don't have a BR release of The Hudsucker Proxy. It may not be the most well known, or best of the Cohen Brothers films, but it is the Cohen's and by that fact alone, it would sell a decent amount.

I'd love a decent edition of this. There's a region-free US Warner Archive blu, but some extras beyond a trailer would be nice. It's my favourite Coen Brothers movie by some distance.

IIRC, we had to wait a decade after the US DVD release for it to finally arrive on DVD over here from Universal, so I'm not holding my breath.

I noticed that the excellent Handmaid's Tale TV series was released on DVD only yesterday. I can understand the logic of dropping Blu-ray releases one or two seasons in if sales are really poor, but to not even release a multi-award-winning critically acclaimed first season is pure madness!

The only place where a Blu Ray release seems to be happening is the U.S. Not sure if the U.S. edition will be region locked or not though.

Odds on The Wall won't happen any time soon because there's still money to be made from Roger Waters recent(ish) concert movie of the same material. Same reason I doubt we'll ever get a full release of the Earls Court Pink Floyd concert.

Battle of the Sexes was my favourite film of last year so I'm bummed that's not getting a release. Additionally, my favourite film of 2015 was Me and Earl and the Dying Girl which hasn't Blu-Ray here either
