Damn it! I thought “1976” was magnificent, and unbearably tense from start to finish, so was really hoping that it would get a blu release.

I wasn’t a fan of “Pacificition” though, although I know my opinion on the film is in the minority.

Those 4/5 star user reviews are already in as well before it's been released.

If you could find out any of those that would be cool. No idea what the distribution issues are with those.

Kino as 1976 so a Blu Region is highly possible, though it will be region locked.

I think GrassHopper have Pacification so that will definitely get a US Blu Ray release and hopefully region free.

Don't know if this is the right place to post this, but what happened to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels getting a re-release?, as it's now been out of print for ages. They certainly missed the boat in 2019 to release a 20th Anniversary edition, OK after that the pandemic hit, but now it's 2023 and nothing, Amazon did have as a pre- order, but not with any date, vso just a placeholder (wishful thinking?). It annoys me that Guy Ritchie/Matthew Vaughn films like Snatch etc., are available but not their first film, crazy.

I do have the DVD of it but it's the one that came packaged in a crystal case, so wouldn't mind an upgrade even if it's just the Blu-Ray and obviously didn't think I would miss out on getting it on that or a better format over time. It seems it's out of print pretty much globally and therefore if a copy is kicking around it's pretty expensive and though it's on Prime Video in HD, it's not like owning a physical copy and like a lot of films they can be disappear off of that streaming service.

Interesting update on the Hellraiser 2022 front - a poster in work (FOPP) mentions a BD release alongside the DVD. Only noticed this on the way out today so will have a look into it further tomorrow - could be an error, but fingers crossed?

Unfortunately (and unsurprisingly) seems like an error, couldn't find any Blu on the system.

Well, the whole thing is based on a magic man in the sky, so why not?

Don't worry, Sony will put it out in a Region A locked disc in the US, followed by Region BC locked discs in Europe and Australia and Region AC locked discs in Asia.

No word on whether Sky Cinema/Universal will give a UK Blu-ray to the wonderful and devastating A Good Person, but it will get a US Blu-ray at the end of next month from MGM/WB.

eOne will released the adaptation of the best seller The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry starring Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton only on DVD, date TBA.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Unlikely-Pi...dp/B0C2J197X4/

Polite Society will also unfortunately be DVD only from Universal.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Polite-Soci...dp/B0C2VTK4MN/

80 for Brady is also DVD only from Paramount, date TBA.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/80-Brady-DV...dp/B0BZJ3MYJD/

Modern Films are unreliable, but Sick of Myself is getting a Region A Blu-ray from Vinegar Syndrome Pictures, with a bloodied, read the label first slipcase.

https://vinegarsyndrome.com/products/sick-of-myself

Riotsville USA, which Dogwoof released to UK cinemas in the past month, only has a DVD release in the US, though a lot of it is made up of video sourced archive.

I'm so glad to hear that Sick of Myself is getting a English friendly release. I missed it when it played last year.

Don’t think it’s gonna happen unless a label jumps on it once the Amazon exclusivity runs out, it doesn’t look like A24 have any interest in releasing a UK release anytime soon.

Entertainmenr in Video EiV released Green Knight in the U.K. after a long wait. That was another A24 film although in US it was Lionsgate before the A24 version.

EiV also did Midsommar here, so they obviously have some type of link up with A24.

Other Amazon films in the U.K. seem to go AWOL on disc as Greenland has never come out here but has pretty much everywhere else.

EiV were the distributors of those films though (Green Knight was only released via Amazon after a panic of another lockdown when it was due to be released), A24 opted to release Everything Everywhere All At Once themselves (same with The Whale as well).

I would have thought Lionsgate may have ported their release over here by now but it’s increasingly looking unlikely. I’ve currently got the 4K release in my Amazon basket knowing full well the moment I pull the trigger on buying it, it’ll get announced.

That's a shame about The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, as I might have liked to see that one. Hopefully, there will be an import.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, 80 for Brady appears to be a direct port of the US NTSC DVD, which doesn't mention any extras, either. So not only do you lose the 1080p video, Atmos track and lossless audio, but all the extras, too. It makes you wonder why Paramount are even bothering with a release.

Irish horror Unwelcome from the director of Grabbers only stuck around in UK/Irish cinemas for a few weeks and was met with mixed reviews, but has a couple of import options, a US Blu-ray from Well Go and a German release under the title Goblins.

https://shop.plaionpictures.com/gobl...iester-blu-ray

Plaion are only releasing All the Beauty and the Bloodshed on DVD, so hopefully Criterion announce their Blu-ray soon, or Altitude step up releasing discs again.
