Anyone else presently enjoying this release on Blu-ray? I sure am. Excellent addition to my Blu-ray library. I'm watching at least one episode per night. Finishing up Disc 2 of 12 this evening with the below episodes. Ah, the lovely Farrah Fawcett. Great way to start a Friday night!
___________________ ![]() 12(8). Rettung aus dem All (Rescue of Athena One) Steve is launched into space to rescue two astronauts stranded in a crippled space capsule. Original Air Date: 15.03.1974 ![]() 13(9). Dr. Wells wird vermisst (Dr. Wells Is Missing) When a group of international criminals kidnap Dr. Rudy Wells in order to force him to build them a bionic man, Steve is sent to find and rescue him. Original Air Date: 29.03.1974 ___________________ I'd also have to agree with one of the featurettes offered with this release, the show opener is truly iconic. After I get going with a given TV show on Blu-ray I usually start skipping past the intro that plays before each episode. I have no desire to do so with this series. Just too much fun. And to keep Steve Austin company I just couldn't resist. Invited Jaime Sommers over to play per the various crossover episodes not included with this SMDM release. Had to be done. ![]() (Click on the image above to view my online profile for the box set as a whole.) Last edited by AmishParadise; 01-04-2021 at 09:06 PM. |

I got one of my 2 copies from Amazon.co.UK a few days ago and I give the Turbine Medien blu-ray release a BIG thumbs up! It's been three weeks now and I'm still waiting on my Amazon.DE (Germany) set to arrive.
QUESTION— Disc 12, the 3rd reunion movie— 'Bionic Ever After?' — is region (B) locked on my set. Does this present a problem on anybody else's set? |

I just checked out Disc 12. The reunion movies are in SD actually and as suspected, the 3rd reunion movie clocks in at a frame rate of 25, hence the issue. See below.
Reunion Movies 1 & 2 (480i/29.970 fps) Video compression mode: MPEG-2 Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Source picture resolution: 720x480 Frame rate: 29.00 Reunion Movie 3 (576i/25 fps) Video compression mode: MPEG-2 Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Source picture resolution: 720x576 Frame rate: 25.00 So looks like I'll have to use my HTPC or PS4 to play the 3rd reunion movie as both can handle 25 fps content unlike my Sony Blu-ray changers. I sifted through all the program content on a region (A) blu-ray player and initially thought that perhaps navigation was off on that one; then I loaded it into a region free player set at region (B). Code free player needed to play that one in the U.S. folks.
Thanks Amish! |

I've got the same issue with the French Blu-ray release of Caprica which is in 1080i/50. My PS4 and HTPC support the frame rate. No issues playing the discs. My Sony Blu-ray changers and PS3 don't support the frame rate. Game over. I'd love to keep the discs housed for playback in my Sony changers, but sadly it wouldn't make much sense to do. Hopefully one day we'll see a 1080p/24 release of Caprica. Stranger things have happened. Last edited by AmishParadise; 01-11-2019 at 08:36 PM. |

I completely forgot that my standard region (A) blu-ray player only reads 29 fps NTSC and my 'code free' player reads both NTSC and PAL frame rates. What threw me through a loop were the first 2 reunion movies at 29 fps.

Don't wanna be a party pooper here, but the German boxset is cut. Several episodes have cuts due to pacing reasons (dialogue) and some are cut due to violence as well.

The German box set represents the German TV broadcasts. It's the first item mentioned on the back of the packaging. It doesn't pretend to be anything else and if I do say so myself, with only 3 episodes left to watch of Season 1 the presentation on Blu-ray so far has been fantastic. For $100 how much more could one ask for?
