What I'm saying is they usually use the same discs. Ergo, if it is FiM then both discs would be if they're the same. There's multiple Lionsgate discs that were simply cloned for Studio Canal and vice-versa. Angel Heart is the last example I know of off hand. Of course it isn't a rule, just a guess by what they've done before. It's a possibility they did a new authoring but I doubt it. I'm sure David M. would be able to say if it's something he can talk about.

Just checked the booklet for BFI’s Ingmar Bergman Vol 3–it’s FiM and specifies David M (which makes me more surprised that The Virgin Spring seems to have encode issues—the black bars are grey at random moments throughout).

Flicker Alley's Flicker Fusion releases of The Whistle at Eaton Falls (1951), The Silent Enemy (1930), and Cinematic Journeys: Two Films by Juleen Compton (1965-1966) were all encoded by Fidelity in Motion.

Just got the BFI Bergman Vol 4, and I can confirm it also is FiM according to the booklet. Crossing my fingers that Fanny and Alexander (TV version) will be better than Criterion’s due to FiM’s encoding even though they appear to have the same bitrate.

The Night of The Following Day (Brando) and Freud (Montgomery Clift ) from Indicator Uk are from FIM

Audio seems strange though cause sounds like Brando is mumbling. Oh wait ....

Harlow from Carlotta France starring Carrol Baker is FIM (no forced French Subs)

all 3 have better compression then their prior releases from Kino/Olive

I saw that review, but they don't seem to confirm, just speculate:

Quote:
The Virgin Suicides comes to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray courtesy of Studiocanal in the UK, having licensed the same 4K restoration as the recent US 4K release from Criterion ("approved by director Sofia Coppola and supervised by cinematographer Ed Lachman"), however reportedly gaining a fresh encode courtesy of the universally reliable Fidelity in Motion, and whilst no comparison between the two releases was possible, there's no denying that the UK release looks tremendous.
There isn't any booklet or insert with that release, nor are there on-disc credits that I can find. So I think we need to wait for this one to actually be confirmed.
