It's interesting to note that David M did separate encodes of Body Double for Powerhouse and Carlotta Films. There isn't much in it, but I prefer the Carlotta release. The grain is a smidge tighter IMO. I've compared them back-to-back and my overall feeling was that the Carlotta disc offered the best presentation of the film.

Well, I wasn't talking about the list on page 1. And I don't give a single **** about my contributor credit (if anything I'd prefer not being mentioned at all). Notice how I actually avoided mentioning that I mentioned Dawn already (because I, again, don't give a flying ****).

All I did was point it out and make a joke about you not contributing anything new yada yada yada.

PS: The * is just how I talk.

On some mentioned movies (I think Jackie Chan's Police Story by Eureka), there is credit on booklet describing the "blu-ray authoring by David M". Something like that.

When crediting "blu-ray authoring", does it necessarily also include the video encoding?

Not necessarily. There are some discs with David's encodes that were authored by different parties.

Noted. Just some times the way things are posted it can be missed out.

It's easier if contributions are alphabetical, and not in caps. Straight copy and paste job.

FiM did not do "Paths of Glory" but IBF HD and "Hausu" and "The Blue Lagoon" were Luke Louca. I'm not sure "Valerie and Her Week of Wonders" is FiM either because Second Run usually use Silversun. Also, is there any confirmation on the SC titles (I assume "Last Year at Marienbad" is the remastered one).

Funeral Parade of Roses is a different encode than the BFI release.

About Powerhouse's The Mad Magician : FiM did the 2D encode but not the 3D one (indeed performed by Visual Data).

The Gamera's split work reminds me : FiM performed some of the Arrow Fassbinder set encodes but not all of them. I don't remember which ones, though, but I suppose you probably can detect visually which ones are likely to have been handled by FiM. The Merchant of Four Seasons seems very likely.

Also : Cinelicious / Arbelos got some flak on their Funeral Parade of Roses BD encode and have been going through FiM since. I'm not sure exactly when they started working together though, but I suspect The Last Movie is encoded at FiM at least.

He also did Scandal for the BFI.

I so wish Studio Canal had hired David M to encode their John Carpenter 4K UHDs.

Anyway, great thread. According to the booklet it came with, Killer Klowns From Outer Space (Arrow) is a David M/FIM encode.

UPDATED:

We even have an image banner now.

You may of course copy this list for your own personal usage. But if you are intending on posting it anywhere else public, then please give credit to Blu-ray.com forum.

Also I can't find The Black Society Trilogy in the site database.

Gamera needs to be sorted.

Geoffs credit still stands as he's the culprit most responsible for starting this FIM cult.

Thank you again for all your contributions. Hopefully going forward we can start adding more additional information relevant to FIM encodings on releases.
