Also of note, I know that there are at least two BFI releases (there might be a few more) that incorrectly attribute the video encoding to David M/FiM when that is not the case. Those two, the ones I owned, are "Carmen Jones" and the Otto Preminger noir set.

If you feel like it, you could change it to "Gamera: The Complete Collection". It just bothers me a little that the title is incomplete.

I removed it from my list because another member pointed it out before me, but FiM also did Carlotta's Funeral Parade of Roses, and it's a different encode than the BFI one.
Missing : Out1, from both Carlotta and Arrow (from the Rivette set) (same encodes).

I just checked the BFI Jarman sets, and FiM are credited for both. David is also credited for the Bill Morrison set and Cosh Boy. I'll check other BFI from my collection.

I also didn't realised it wasn't already mentioned, but FiM did the encode for Shoah, which is just soooooooooo much better than the Criterion one. Also missing : the Eureka Dziga Vertov set.

EDIT : FiM/David are also credited for the BFI releases of :
Red, White and Zero
Psychomania
Sleepwalker
Lino Brocka double-bill
Early Women Filmmakers set
Atoll K
Heat and Dust
The Caretaker
The British Transport Films best of
It Happened Here
Distant Voices, Still Lives (same encode than the Arrow disc)
The Blood of Hussain

EDIT 2 : checked Carlotta's Suddenly Last Summer : same encode than the PH release.
The Burbs / Arrow and Carlotta / same encodes
10 Rillington Place / PH and Carlotta / same encodes
Fright Night / Eureka and Carlotta / different encodes.
One Eyed Jacks / Arrow and Carlotta / different encodes.
Lady from Shanghai / PH and Carlotta / different encodes.
To Live and Die in LA / Arrow and Carlotta / different encodes.
Eaten Alive Arrow / Arrow and Carlotta / different encodes.
The New Centurions / PH and Carlotta / different encodes.
Phantom of the Paradise / Arrow and Carlotta / different encodes.
See No Evil / PH and Carlotta / different encodes.
Who Can Kill A Child / Mondo Macabro and Carlotta / different encodes.

Updated.

I took the region code information out of the Flicker Alley releases, as I didn't feel they had any relevancy to FIM encoding.

The Shout Factory release of Big Trouble in Little China has a 100% identical encode to the Arrow release. Hopefully in the future, Shout can access encodes done by David M/FiM, or have them do some of their discs.

Also, the German remastered disc of Paris, Texas looks unbelievably good to where it looks like a FiM encode. Now, the commentary has lossless audio, so I doubt it, but if anyone could figure out who did compression and authoring, I'd love to know- they did a great job and deserves to do more big name releases.

The new 'The Vanishing' disc released in Germany/UK under Studiocanal's Arthaus label looks really nice as well and I'm curious about it too. Both are under the same imprint and if Paris Texas is indeed FiM I wouldn't be surprised if both discs are.

"Paris, Texas" isn't because of the commentary being in DTS-HD MA rather than Dolby Digital.

Hmm I'm not following? I was referring how both look great and they're under the same Arthaus label. I actually didn't know either had a commentary because I don't listen to those lol

It was more of a response to "if Paris Texas is indeed FiM". "The Vanishing" doesn't have a commentary (or any extras) but "Paris, Texas" does have a commentary.

I checked the booklet myself before and it doesn't state anything about the whodunit, but: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...3&postcount=52
