They were giving out $100 to New Mexico residents last month to encourage them to get vaccinated. The vaccination rate didn't really change.

Plus as a fully vaccinated person (but having a compromised immune system) I definitely wouldn't go to an indoor event that lasted 2 hours knowing there are people with no vaccination.

It's Business 101. It's a simple plan, it's just not easy to accomplish. Requires thinking outside the box which theater executives have trouble doing. That's because they are 100% dependent on others to provide for them.

Venom and Halloween are two of the surest performers this fall, covid or no covid, and dumbass Sony moved Venom to the same date as the other one. That decision remains mind-boggling from every possible perspective. The movies appeal to the exact same audience. You can be sure that theater attendance won't be at peak any time this year, so why the hell would you cannibalize the only audience that's showing up?

AMC is a $19 billion company. They are carrying $10.5 billion in debt of which most of it is at 10%.

Theatres don't have enough employees to check theatres for talkers/texters or to help a busy concession line move quicker, but sure let's have someone watch an entire lobby of products that are easy to steal.

Memorabilia is what Hot Topic, Game Stop, FYE, Box Lunch, etc. are for.

Movie theaters show movies along with snacks to enjoy while watching.

So either make your own movies and/or sell your own snacks. Other than popcorn, they have to buy all the other snacks and jack the prices up.

Both Walmart (Vudu) and AT&T (WarnerMedia) failed Business 101.

So it's crazy to think a theater could sell more things, but not crazy to think they could actually start making their own movies?
