Probably Imprint themselves at viavision.com.au, though you will have to pay a lot more in shipping from Australia.

I haven't tried them myself yet (just put in my first direct order yesterday), but people here say, they tend to bubble-wrap everything.

You could also write Jesse at DiabolikDVD first to ask whether he will be able to get any more copies. It's not certain he knows yet, but it might be worth a shot.

So what do we know about this? Are these remasters or old sources being used again?

I mainly just want this cuz of the Theatrical. I don't have high value for the DC but the features I'm game for.

More than likely the existing master. I don't think Imprint are known for splashing their dollar on fancy new scans.

I really wish Paramount would stop teasing my dick and just grant us a UHD release of the theatrical cut.

Sorry International folk, its probably worth a little bit of context setting. Australia distributors aren't really in the business of creating new masters (with an exception for Australian cinema). When they do, its more an exception to the norm. Australia is an extremely small media market, which I assume represents the majority of Imprints sales and the local customer base has some interesting expectations around price points. Mastering and new extras cost a lot when average Joe baulks at paying >AU$40 for a local disc. It all adds up to a situation where the maths don't reconcile. We've seen distributors come and go regularly because they can't sell minimum volumes of discs to keep funding future releases.

I'm not talking shit about Imprint; I really think our local landscape has improved with their presence. The point of this was (hopefully) help provide some insight into what we have locally and also help temper expectations

hrmm.

So.... question to be asked: How would the last remaster hold up to today?

I'd assume it will be the same TC master that's already been available on various streaming platforms and the German LE mediabook. Which by all accounts is quite good, the same quality as the DC master.

The german theatrical cut Blu-ray actually looks BETTER than the US Director's Cut Blu-ray.

Well there ya go. The transfer was probably done later if anything, I'd assume the DC BD was just a port of the HD master that was the source for the DVD.

i'm not very familiar with this company. is there any chance we also see a standalone release of the theatrical or is this probably it? a little pricey for one movie, though i'll probably still shell out cause it's one of my favorites

Their general policy is to do a standard edition on titles that sell well. So it is possible we'll get either a standalone theatrical, or maybe a scaled-down 2-disc in regular packaging later on.

The reality is however, they haven't done standard releases of any of the boxsets to date, so I really wouldn't count on one happening.

They also haven't bothered with any standard editions in general since last year.

Their presence has definitely helped! Umbrella, and now even Shock have upped their game seeing the how the quality Imprint releases sell.

Is there a reason this counts as 2 movies in the database? Tried fixing it, but never got approved.

I guess the two cuts on two discs makes it count as two movies.

For some reason this site sometimes insists on incorrect information. I had the same issue with the 4K of Hard Target, it's stuck with the R rating on here even though it's the unrated cut and says that clear as day on the back cover They even sent me a DM telling me the submission was rejected after I tried to fix it the second time

I held onto my TC DVD for dear life until that German release came out. Never bothered with the DC either.
