Default Animatrix dilema

i know this is suppose to be in "the what region code is it" thread but Im having trouble getting a response there so I hope this is ok...

basically I want the ANIMATRIX blu really really bad...but Im not about to waste my money or time on the god awful live action sequels (box set). There are however, like 4 or 5 different imports of this title and I was wondering if any of them are playable on on a region 1 unit. PQ would be great too if anyone knows. THANKS!

The UK disc is region free (as are all WB Blu-rays). I don't know about picture quality though.

Why is everyone berating the two sequels ? Obviously all is not answered by the time the third movie is finished but it is nonetheless a great sequel.

I think expectations for the sequels were so high after the first Matrix became an all-time classic movie. The second movie is at least a good action movie, but the third movie is unwatchable in parts and does not work on any level.

The third one certainly is not for everyone as it gets more on the metaphysical side. Not alot of people can handle such a movie that demands your attention, althought I felt there was more action in the third. Its growing on me more though with repeat viewings.

I had a layover in Amsterdam earlier this week and I saw the Dutch Animatrix blu for 13 euros and grabbed it. Haven't watched it yet though. I plan on waiting till I order the other Matrix blus.

I don't agree with those who say the sequels are terrible, but for me, the original is the only one worth owning. Reloaded is too uneven. It has arguably the best action sequence of the trilogy (on the highway), and the late conversation with the Architect sets up some interesting questions, but overall it just didn't flow nearly as well as the original or have as much dramatic tension. Revolutions fell totally flat for me, as it just didn't deliver on much of what was set up in the first two.
